      Chelsea Want Yossi And Masch
Chelsea eye another Double as Blues ready bid for Liverpool duo Yossi Benayoun and Javier Mascherano

Chelsea are weighing up a double move for Liverpool's Javier Mascherano and Yossi Benayoun.

The Double winners realise Liverpool are vulnerable to offers and have earmarked the duo to reinforce their ageing squad with Michael Ballack and Joe Cole expected to leave.

Liverpool do not want to sell to Chelsea but if the financial offer is bold enough they may have little choice with Rafa Benitez's budget almost non-existent.

Mascherano has shelved talks on a new contract while Benayoun is hoping to discuss a move to Stamford Bridge for around £6m this week.

Benayoun, 30, said: 'Ancelotti wants me for next season and now everything depends on Liverpool. Chelsea will have to pay some £6m but I believe that in the end I'll be moving there.'

I do love the article though. They talk about Chelsea's aging squad, then mention the fact that Yossi is 30. He's hardly a spring chicken himself.

Had hoped we would keep Yossi. Always capable off opening up a stubborn defense. A bit surprised to see him outing a move. Thought himself and Maxi were going to be boss for us next year. Guess not

Like you said. He is hardly the answer to an ageing squad. Surely someone in their twenties would fit that bill

i think that is bollocks, he has either been misquoted or they have just made it up. It sounds very unprofessional to say something like that and i can only think of a few players who would say that sort of thing and Yossi isn't one of them. Especially seeing as he not long ago said he would like to finish his career with us if it's possible.

Both Masch and Yossi? Well Chelsea you better pay up.....40 million pounds is the starting point i think. I really hate the idea of losing Yossi, though, and I can't see Masch wanting to go to another Premier League Club.

That's some f**king quote from Benayoun that.

Yep. F**k him then, if thats how he feels. But i would be surprised if he has said that, quite unprofessional.

Funny that about the aging squad though. The fact Cole is leaving most likely, being only 28, and they get in the likes of Yossi to fill the void? Great planning that

6m not really enough IMO, considering he signed a new contract last season? Maybe ive been sucked into the high spending mentality, but 6m just seems cheap. Though, it would be nice if the transfer market would settle a bit, but only if we can get some players cheap as well.

      That hurt that quote.

Agree with everyone in here. Replacing one of their aging players with a player 2 years older than him. :D

Just swap us Joe Cole then, if Yossi wants to go there.

Yossi isn't that type of bloke to come out with this. Atleast i think he isn't.

What will he gain from a move to Chelsea? Regular bench warming? :-\

If he said that, get fu**ed. Not to mention I've pretty much lost most respect for him.

In any case, I'd probably take the £6m offer anyway. If Chelsea want another player entering their 30's than so be it!
