If we do start with the same LB's then hopefully Fab will be first choice.
      I hope so

Try looking back a page, in fact about 10 or so posts ago ;)

Ah yes, sorry, and thanks for the clue. I should have tried to look for the answer a bit harder myself.

Fab and Insua are a decent pairing for us.

Aurelio has 3 seasons or so left in him, time for Insua to develop.

I don't think anyone here would say that Insua is ready to be playing LB for us week in week out.The best situation for us right now is to have a fit Aurelio who should be first-choice so that Insua gets his time to develop into a world-class LB and he surely has the potential to grow into one.I think Insua suffered a lot last season from not having a recognised LB in front of him but the highs and lows of last season would surely have taught him a lot and quickened his learning.

Top post. Hoping Insua stays. So glad to have ( an injury free ) Aurelio back.

Injury free, for now... I'm just worried Fab will pick up a knock and we'll be left with Insua as a first choice LB. I'd pick Agger over Insua at LB, Insua just hasn't delivered, whatever his initial potential was.

insua did have some good games in the start of the last season, his form just dropped but i always had faith in him. i wouldnt choose agger as a lb over insua neither.

I think Insua has a lot of potential and could develop. In my book its no coincedence that his form dipped after his debut for Argentina.

If the team had had a better season then I think Insua would have too, If we up our game next season then Insua will be able to develop with confidence around him.

Emiliano Insua’s move to Fiorentina breaks down

Fiorentina are no longer interested in signing Liverpool's Argentinian defender Emiliano Insua.

The Serie A club's sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has said that the player's excessive wage demands put an end to any deal.

"Insua? It has been a transfer that has gone on for a long time because of the player," he said."I had dinner with Liverpool's sporting director until two in the morning. The player is staying at Liverpool.

"The reasons are linked to the player. His demands are high for us. We will not sign Insua."

don't really know how his demands were that high as the fiorentina man states
or maybe insua wanted to stay and he demanded a big wage so the italian club will decline thier interest
Anyway happy he is staying .  somehow he reminds me of warnock  who we sold too soon IMO

Don't rate the lad he was awful last season, defensively he was a complete liability, I still think we need a top class left back and hopefully with the right owners we will get a top class one.

would love to know how much he is on and how much he wanted from fiorentina.....

hope the lad can develop, the defensive side of his game needs some guidance and hopefully he can flourish, the only real senior figures who specialise in his position are jonhson (not a LB but exact same on other side really) degen & aurelio, defensively wont learn much from johnno as his pace allows his to make up for positional errors but what cud he have learned from the other two given their fitness issues.....

for now having him round is certainly better than not, remains to be seen if he can cut it as a first team player

Now that's he's staying he has two options.

First he could crack the sads that he was even put up as trade bait and then sit on the bench sulking until he gets his chance when Aurelio becomes injured. Or

He does a Xabi Alonso and has his best season in a Red Shirt and reminds us all of how he played in his first season therefore either knocking up his selling price or becoming Liverpool's established Number 1 Left back.

I know which one I'd prefer him to do. Come on Insua now that you are staying, get fit, make that postion yours and work your bloody arse off, especially your defensive duties.

      Looks like hes staying then?
I would still have Aurelio as first choice Left-back, should he get injured i would rather play Agger out of position than Insua.

I cant keep reading the same crap- he is still young, he could be good for us-
You wont keep repeating yourselves when you watch him get embarrased and turned inside-out every game he plays!

Not good enough, was good news he was leaving..

Interesting. Swapski for Turan? Yes please. :D ;)

CELEBRATION TIME IF THIS IS FOR TURAN BUT DOUBT IT.

Liverpool have been linked to 30 year old Dani Guiza of Fenerbahce (signed in 2008 from Real Mallorca) and a Spanish international.  If I was a betting man, we're getting a striker and Dani might fit the bill?

Clarification - only been linked with Guiza in the past - not seen any recent rumours, at all

Shame really I know he had a bad season last season, but he still contributed 5 assists and its not as though he was the weak link in another wise solid defense, I'd have liked to seen him stay here as second choice and develop as an understudy to some one more reliable.
