      A song for Pepe
      Jul 05, 2010 02:29:19 pm
Pepe Reina. What can you say? This will be his 6th season with us since he joined us in 2005 and one thing we can say about him is that he's been our best keeper for years, an absoloutely great player who has done very little wrong. He's got it all that makes him one of our best players, including the will to stand up and speak for the team. Even when times are tough, times like these, he's the one we can rely on to keep the team going, along with Carra, Nando and of course Steven Gerrard. But the difference is, they last three players I said have been giving a song dedicated to them by the supporters on the Kop.

I think that we should make up a song for Pepe, something that everyone can learn and join in with. It would be small thanks to our number 25 for all he's done so far, and we have the right set of fans to come up with something as the scousers have done for years. It would encourage not only Pepe but the rest of the team to do their best on the pitch. Nando said in his book that when he hears the Torres song it makes him try that huge bit extra, so I think it's well time Pepe had one.

Now I know several people are boycotting the games next year and I can clearly see why, but we could at least give it a shot. Post your ideas for a song up, and hopefully we can give a small contribution back to Pepe.

      I was thinking of:

      1 man couldn't score,
      couldn't score past Reina,
1 man apart from a beachball
      couldn't score past Reina.

      2 men couldn't score...

PS. Sorry for any offence with the beachball comment, but it keeps some banter in the song ;D

it's said, the keeper from the med, always wins the ball, even when he falls.

Since Pepe has such a good relationship with the fans, why not go back to what the Kop sang for Brucie. Obviously changing the name.

      Pepe
      What's the score?
      Pepe Pepe
      What's the score?
      Pepe
      What's the score?
      Pepe Pepe
      What's the score?

And then hopefully Pepe will do what Brucie used to do and turn round and give us the score with his fingers.

Again to the tune of "In my Liverpool home".

      In our Liverpool goal,
      In our Liverpool goal,
We have a goalie exceedingly rare,
His name is Pepe and he's got no hair,
If you think that you'll score,
Then he'll show you the door,
      Reina in Liverpool's goal.

Since Pepe has such a good relationship with the fans, why not go back to what the Kop sang for Brucie. Obviously changing the name.

      Pepe
      What's the score?
      Pepe Pepe
      What's the score?
      Pepe
      What's the score?
      Pepe Pepe
      What's the score?

And then hopefully Pepe will do what Brucie used to do and turn round and give us the score with his fingers.

I never knew that (about the fans and Bruce). Quality.

Yeah mate, mainly cos Brucie was a clown and entertaining the fans was primary to him above the football. And when he was the keeper, we usually had the ball so he could mess about with the crowd.

If we're doing camp then this little number from Aqua

      He's a baldy head
      In our L'pool goal
      He's our Pepe
      He's our Reina

      He makes all the saves
      He'll crush opponents waves
      He's our Pepe
      He's our Reina

      Barbie Girl ;D
