How you have a rating of only 0 after 98 posts of thrilling analysis like that is completely beyond me.
Loving this thread - this typifies exactly the problem with some sections of our fans - the anti-Voronin's are the ones who get on the phone to the radio stations after we lose a game telling us to sack Rafa.  Absolutely clueless idiots.

The current score - for those who are counting is:

      Voronin (free transfer) 1
      Kuyt (£11 million) + Crouch (£7 million) + Torres (£26 million) 0

Well pointed out I can see that Rafa really hit the jackpot with Voronin, he has been in consistently good shape since preseason which is good for a striker of his age.  It makes you wonder why he never had his contract renewed at Bremen if he was playing as well for them as he is over here.

I know this guy will work hard for his place like Kuyt did and it return we will see some excellent football from him.

Who says they didn't offer him a contract? If you knew Liverpool were interested - wouldn't you tell them to stick it up their arse.

Spot on.  I believe he played in that Champions League tie against us 2 year ago.  3-1 in the first leg and then 3-1 again to us.

Wonder if he got on the scoresheet...

      Eddie is correct ;)

I think he looks top buy, i don't think he is in the same league as Torres, and I strongly believe Torres will produce the goods. However, he has shown that he isn't here to make up the numbers and he wants to be on that team sheet come sunday. Good luck to him ;)

Now would someone give me a good rating please :D

If my memory serves me correctly,

didn't Dudek make an error and that Franco scored to make make it 3-1 in the home leg and we were slightly nervous of the away goal?

I doubted Voronins credentials when I saw his stike rate at club and international level but so long as he keeps doing it for us, who bloody cares about his past. Nice one lad, keep it up.

Some people are well and truely eating humble pies on this topic!

Too me he seems a class act...great control, intelligent, reads the game, good positioning, link up play and an eye for goal - could be the player of the season.  Why not!

      Well I'm very happy.
       ;D

I picked him for my 'most influential new player'

certainly the best value - already.

i think he will score 10 - 15 this season, even if they are in cups or off the bench.  who cares.  they will all count.  Torres will be fantastic too as will Babel, but they may take a season to bed in.

I would play Voronin in the starting team, I would even consider to bench Torres if it's necessary. I know it sounds strange, but it's all on the pitch. Nobody cares how much a player did cost, how big his reputation is, it is about how he is on the pitch...and right now Voronin is better than anybody else in the offense (That doesn't mean that Torres doesn't have the better long term prospect.).

You have to realise that for Ukraine and Bayer, he would often play in the midfield, or a holding striker position.
He's a lethal finisher by the looks of it, and dare I say it, be our first 20 goal/season player since Owen/God!

He looks like a clever player and has already shown his potential. He knows he wont be starting many games but he looks very useful. Very impressed !

Should have been on the bench instead of Crouch today.

I understand the rotation system but when Voronin grabs a winner on Wednesday and Crouch pisses about then surely if one of them is allowed a place on the bench it had to be Voronin.  Kuyt looked a bit off his game against Chelsea - might be worth giving Torres and Voronin a bang next week.

Really we have nothing to lose with this guy, free transfer and will probably be better than bellamy, he has no pressure having come in for nothing so i think he'll be a good signing.

Voronin is a quality player, work's hard, get's into good position's, has a fine shot on him, ala gola he scored in champ's league qualifier.

Don't understand why anybody can say otherwise, esp. when he came for nothing.

If anyone slagging him off already wants to stick their money where their mouth is and wants to suggest that Voronin is going to be our worst striker in terms of goals scored per minute played then I would be happy to match your wager.

I'm still waiting for anybody who had slagged Voronin off before he had even pulled on the shirt to get in touch with me about this....

      Current scores

      Voronin (Free) - 2 goals
      Torres (£26 million) - 1 goal
      Crouch (£7 million) - 0 goals
      Kuyt (£11 milion) - 0 goals

Voronin played well yesterday. Set up the first goal and scored the 2nd. No doubt was he worth the £0m price tag :D
I'm sure there is more to come from him, he's quick and strong and he looks like he's enjoying his time in England.
