      Haha

      OK

      Ignore it if you like

Just because a player wants to leave doesn’t mean we sell...🙄

Do you really believe had Phil stayed we would have forked out for Ali & Virgil & retain all our players..? Nah don’t think so.

No chance, but that doesn't fit his narrative

Imagine that - look to join a league that gives the club more money but to make amends some people want them to spend more money 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

They wealth is in assets as opposed to cash so what money should they put up ? Loans against the club ?

Just curious, did you think the ESL was a good idea?

Either way it’s still not a sell to buy policy that people keep blurting out

We wouldn't buy big without selling big

It's simple really and you know as well as everyone else there's no way we spend 150m without bringing in a similar amount

I mean just for weight of evidence they haven't in 11 years and also said we would only spend what we generate

      Mad isn't it

That lad bangs on about how they aren't going to spend their own money and is now suggesting we would spend ÂŁ150m in a summer from nowhere without selling

We've just signed the player they wanted at CB.

You can't legislate for three first choice CB getting season ending injuries at once.

      Too little too late!

Either you sell to raise money internally or you inject additional cash resources into the club via equity or debt. In Coutinho’s case two incoming players’ acquisition were balanced by one player’s sale.

City puts in money through sponsorship revenue pretending to “earn” sponsorship money from a related party, which enables them to acquire players.

We need to realise that these expensive toys become £0m in value at the end of their useful life. Sometimes it’s better to take back some money. Sometimes it’s better to run the value down. It’s usually, very sad when the asset becomes £0m. So there’s always a case to sell.

I don't agree with a sell to buy policy no.

I do agree with deadwood removal and replacement but there's usually a big boy thrown in to soften the blow on our pockets

We don't say "i want to get X, but i need to sell Y to get him". There will always be players leaving for the simple reason you need to open a spot in the squad for a new player to take. How big of a squad do you think we should have that we should only buy players but never sell?

FIFA would do anything to make fans keep buying and playing FIFA. And so it’s inevitable that the player becomes invincible eventually. And so the simulation outcomes are being expected of the real world. Not off topic - we’re still talking about spending money.

That’s an end of the transfer window question. We can only guess and speculate as of now. Maybe ask where did the £35m come from?

It is although three of those players were bought last summer.

Look we obviously try and break even or close to on players but I've asked before how many other clubs do the same?

Pretty much all unless they have unlimited resources or want to risk and put themselves in financial problems.

I've no problem selling a player that doesn't want to be here, in fact I'd want them gone ASAP. We've built up a strong team on the back of selling those players, I wouldn't be confident that we would have such a strong team if we hadn't sold those guys, so it worked out in the end.
Thiago came on a free, so that was a no brained, Tsimikas was a cheap third choice cover option, maybe he'll get a chance next season. Jota was a surprise buy, he's already proven his worth. So 2 out of the 3 summer buys have worked out.
Let's hope all the players we buy this summer are decent quality.

      1. The manager bought - Jota , Thiago and Kostas in the summer to strengthen the squad

      2. When VVD was injured we had - Gomez and Matip , those two also got injured , that’s three top CB’s injured- add in Jota , Mane , Thiago , Henderson , Fabinho and Alisson also getting injured

Like for like replacement was not available, none of those mentioned could step into VVD's boots for instance. An example of the trials the manager has to endure under these market traders.
To juggle Gomez and Mario as comparable stand-ins is a F***ing joke, performances tell the tale.

You have lost all credibity defending the market traders who know F**k all about a game they wrongly call 'soccer', even the ESL fiasco hasn't made you see sense!

You are a lost cause pursuing a lost cause.

The Harry Kane case study would put a lot of arguments to bed. Daniel Levy just built a new stadium probably on a lot of debt. His star player wants to leave. Does he run the player to ÂŁ0m or takes back some money. The contract has three more years to run till 2024.

What would we as Daniel Levy do assuming we had limited resources and he doesn’t extend his contract? Do we take back some money or do we run him down to £0m? And when would we pull the trigger if we decide to sell? Remember the value approaches £0 as time ticks.

Redbird invested into FSG so we know there’s some extra money there. But we don’t get these things every year. Maybe for once we need not have to sell. Maybe.
