I hope FSG, the manager, coaching staff and all the players finally get the message that we want a winning team
Well, one thing's for sure Billy; FSG's PR dept can't say they don't know how real fans feel: as much as they continue to argue against the perception... like the Ball-bags they undoubtedly are.

It very simple, If FSG want to win fans over, they need to make sure every transfer window is about strengthening the first team, and not just buying player that may strengthen it in the future.

F**k the "they saved us bullshit", save that for the Church of FSG on Sundays.
They're building that stadium up, +1 for that, they're bringing in the money through sponsorship deals, great, but if they do not bring on field success to the club, they will NOT go down as good owners, that's the bottom line.
On field success is the most important thing for every supporter.

Yep but simply whining about "we want to win" doesn't, in itself, achieve anything.

It takes a credible plan, well executed with the ability to learn quickly from mistakes.

Anyone, who has built anything successfully - most of all Shankly - knows how canny you have to be to make the right choices - including, nowadays, how the finances are handled since that is such a crucial part of professional elite sports.

If you could moan your way to victory I'm sure we would have won the league in the past few years.

Everyone needs to start, first of all, by getting behind the team.

I dont think a lot of this bunch , but fair play to them they are showing some balls over Sterling , its a welcome change rather thsn us getting mugged off over transfers , at least they are not bending over and taking one up the sh*t shute.

On field success does not seem to be as important in the general scheme of things to our owners.
The actualities you speak of ie the redevelopment of Anfield (by way of an FSG loan) and the enhanced sponsorship deals are financial arrangements which benefit the club in a commercial sense.
The ''long term plan'' bandied about when convenient by JWH is relevant to bricks and mortar and attracting sponsors as the company enjoys a healthy market status.
The accountants will be well happy.

Footballers and a long term plan translates as buying recognised talent and the rewards will follow, guaranteed.
Buy nothing but potential and you win potentially nothing.

good business deal done... £49 million is a lot of dosh for a player who wanted out anyway..
Is it true QPR will get £10m of that as part of the "sell on" clause in his contract?...

Use the money wisely please...and don't rush out and buy another Andy Carroll.

Big strong centre forward who excels with long direct balls being crossed into him? £35 million price tag? Playing in a well established but mismanaged Premier League side?

Christ, history may be repeating itself if the rumours about Benteke are to be believed....

Supposedly 20% sell on clause if sold to another English club. Assuming it's 20 percent of the up front fee that'll work out as around 9m.

With the exception of Suarez, our biggest 5 transfer fee's received for players are from Rafa signings.

      Suarez, Torres, Sterling, Alonso, Mascherano.

QPR do get a bite of the fee as a contractual obligation mate.
Comolli is no longer here to rush out and track down another Carroll so it's looking good.

Let's not forget who signed Sterling for £600,000, not a typo - £600,000 rising to £5m, not a typo, if the lad kicked on.
None other than the much maligned (by some misguided individuals) Mr Benitez.

If FSG were managing a mutual fund in trading players, I would put my money with them. They sell players well and pay next to nothing for players. Spectacular results in trading profits. Even Balo can can be squared off at £8-10m maybe? Not exactly a big loss.

But this is a football club, not a mutual fund. Roman kept ploughing money into Chelsea and now the club is worth much more than when he first bought it.

Why are owners trading players for profit? Buy world class players!

Getting on for £230mill worth of sales, not including the wage cuts from that and we haven't managed to find a replacement for a single one. You could argue Suarez replaced Torres, and although it was the case that he went on to totally eclipse Torres, ultimately he was signed to play alongside him, Carroll was the replacement signing.

Yes but both Suarez and Torres wanted to leave.. now whether thats down to FSG's mis-management or whether the player missed the warmer climate is open for debate..
As a business you want to hold on to your assets through thick and thin but if they want out there's nothing you can do and with those pair we could've had the best forward line in the world but we couldn't hold on to them..

Personally, I don't think we'll see any of Sterlings fee on someone new before the end of August.. it will end up vanishing into the new stand.. which on one hand is a good investment but if you can't win anything on the pitch you won't get paying bums on seats.. bit of a catch 22 really..

and yet when you glance down the East Lancs our arch enemy have just scooped probably the best double signing of the window(triple, if you count the Italian full back as well).. all done and dusted in a few days, no fuss, sign here, sort your medical and get your boots on..... on paper, they certainly do have a Premier League winning side.. which pisses me right off !!..

and i see the LFC interest in Pedro of Barcelona has risen again for the umpteenth time...
Who steps in for a bid?... F**kin Chelsea !
He'll probably sit on the bench behind Moureen which pisses me off even more...

We've been too soft in the middle over the last few years when it comes to doing top level business with the big boys..

Suarez was virtually a Rafa signing - he had been on our radar for a while - Commoli came in and completed the deal. In fact, Kenny's first task when Rafa brought him back to the club was to travel to Holland to watch Suarez to report back to Rafa.

Rafa also recommended Coutinho to the club and sold us Sturridge.
