We need to raise our expectations. We are no longer owned by hicks and gillette and f**k buying a rangers reject that has had a few good games. Not better than what we have so why bother

I'm inclined to agree, I think if he had played a few years in the Prem and had consistent form then maybe but seems a bit of an average signing as it is.

While I believe Adam would be a good signing, especially at 3 million, my big problem would be that it would also halt the progression of Pacheco

How? I thought Adam was a proper centre mid whilst Pacheco plays higher up the pitch?

Charlie Adam is a decent player no doubt, he was
superb against us at anfield earlier this season.
But do we need him i dont think so, personally i'd
rather put the money towards a top quality winger/striker.

But if Kenny fancies him at £3mill who am i to question it.

No steer well clear was poor at rangers. Has played well in a handful of games this season but we are liverpool surely we are not buying lads because they played five or six good games.my opinion is he would flop he is to slow and no where near good enough

To be fair though, he spent the whole of his Rangers career stuck on the left wing and it's only since moving to Blackpool he's starting doing good because he's been moved to central midfield.

I think he's a decent player and would take him for about 4m. However we already have Shelvey so I don't see the point really.

Good central player. Makes Blackpool tick. Would take him if we could offload Poulson ;)

Can we offload Poulsen this window?  I thought there were weird rules about playing for 3 different clubs inside a certain time frame.....

Either way, I think he'd be a good acquisition if we could get him for around 3-4 million.  Would provide Lucas and Raul with a little more competition for a starting spot.  I do hear the argument about it setting Shelvey's development back though....

That applies to Konchelsky because he played for Fulham before we signed him. As far as I am aware Poulson was that poor Juve had him confined to the bench

He is far better than some of our other midfielders like Jovanovic.

      If cheap then why not.

      Kenny would love another Scotsman.

So would I. But cheap and Scottish shouldn't be the criteria, if that was the case we'd sign Kenny Miller.

For 2-3 million he'd be a good squad player in my book. Still young, and seems to be able to handle the Premiership, whatever his failures were at Rangers.

Why buy him when we have Shelvey, Suso and Pacheco?

Personally i feel Adam would be a great acquisition. He has an eye for a pass, which we have seriously pissed since Alonso left, he is a good tackler and also has an eye for goal from set-pieces. I am not saying he is world-class but in terms of what we are looking for, i think he fits the bill.

I was of the impression he was playing a playmaker role behind the front man. If hes an out and out central midfileder then frankly we dont need him

He's better them Lucas at passing. Could be a good buy. He reminds me of Gareth Barry. Both play very similarly. Better then Lucas imo. Also means Poulson is out the door.

I don't think he is better than Lucas to be honest. I would prefer we brought in a better player and then got rid of poulsen, but Charlie Adam is not really the type of player I would want in at the club.

if it means Poulsen is gone, I'd like to him. I'd be worried for the younger lads development tho.

If we need a playmaker, we should be targeting someone like Hamsik, not C. Adam.

Being from Scotland, I had the opportunity to see Adam play during his Rangers days where he was employed mainly on the left side of midfield. However since moving to Blackpool, he's been playing a more AM role, as Brian78 said, behind the main striker(s). So Adam isn't a central midfielder, however if we needed any cover in that position he would be more than capable of doing the job. I personally think he would be a great acquisition for the club.
