Report: Liverpool Preparing Cash Bid for Hamburg Winger Eljero Elia

Liverpool's pursuit of pacy Hamburg winger Eljero Elia is far from new news, but after failing to secure his services in the January window, Kenny Dalglish will apparently take a different approach this summer.

According to TalkSPORT, Liverpool's January bid for Elia took the form of a loan-buy option, which Hamburg was not interested in. Now, though, Dalglish is prepared to offer the Bundesliga side cash for the 24-year-old Netherlands international.

Elia is said to be keen on the potential move. He is valued at £13 million, according to TransferMarkt.

id imagine this time it will go the same way it did last time.......almost have him signed, have it confirmed by a few respectable reporters, and then out of nowhere have the rumors stop

Left, and cuts in on to his right.

Decent left peg but don't rely on him getting crosses in. He runs in to the box and looks to drag it across goal or shoot.

Not a massive fan of the lad, I personally think he is similar to Babel and has spent most of the season on the bench at Hamburg

I won't pretend I've seen a lot of him but from the bits I've seen, he seems to run into dead ends a lot in a Babel-esque manner.

I like him, he is not babel. He even wants to come here. We need to have competition for wide places so not only this player needs to come!!!

Yeah, that caught my attention too!  

I think this kid has a lot more to offer than Babel.  He has better dribbling ability, and he will actually take the ball to the endline on occasion and cut crosses back across the box.  He is much less predictable than Babel was, and I think that in itself will make him a more potent threat.

He's very unhappy at HSV, didn't get along with the HSV manager at all. But he seems to want to leave even if the manager has been fired recently. I think the only reason why he's talking us and Juventus up is because we were the 2 only clubs interested in him in january, apparently. As far as I know, there's hasn't been any recent interest but he's just trying to reignite it by publically stating his admiration for us.

Would certainly not be my first choice.
