A little disappointed if he goes tbh, had high hopes for him - but he was not likely to be first choice this season so we'd need to buy someone anyway plus we've got a young Scouser coming through, so it makes sense to sell him.

Well i like Insua, think he's going to turn out to be a very good left back myself. It's no secret that in his last full season for us he was thrust into the first team and cruelly exposed. I feel for him a bit, i thought it was a little too much to ask of him, he was only back up to Aurelio. Had he been rested on the odd occasion i think his development could have been improved significantly. Whether he stays or not is down to Kenny, i'd be sad to see him go without giving a proper account of himself.

This is a fair enough point, although Adam has slimmed down a tad, and most of the food he'd eat would just fall right through his gap tooth anyway.

I'm sure he's been reminded it's all you can eat, not all you can carry.

Insua linked as replacement for Riise at AS Roma

      Liverpool Defender Negotiating Roma Move

Liverpool defender Emiliano Insua is in talks with Serie A outfit AS Roma, according to his agent.

The Argentinean international full-back was shifted out on loan to Galatasary last season following a disappointing 2009/10 with Liverpool. However, Insua is currently with the Reds in their pre-season tour of Asia and played in the 6-3 win over a Malaysia XI.

“We have been speaking with [AS Roma] director of sport [Walter] Sabatini,” said Insua’s representative.

“Insua is liked by the Giallorossi, but at the moment the situation is on stand-by.

“He has returned to Liverpool following his loan but I don’t know his price. It depends on the Reds.”

Liverpool have been linked with Jose Enrique as a potential candidate for their left-back spot although interest has cooled on the Spaniard lately.

Pretty much sums it up, for me hcs. I believe we've both posted similar in the past but (to my mind) it's an opinion that, due to circumstances, is worth repeating.

The problem with Insua is that if he stays he will have to be first choice LB, as I can't see Aurelio carrying out the whole season with his fitness record. Fabio will provide a good back up and his contract runs out next year which we won't be extending.

Insua, as the others said, looks overweight, and I wouldn't gamble on him as first team player in this crucial season. He has the potential, but so does Jack Robinson. It is really a complex situation and I trust Kenny and the coaching staff will make the right decision. If we don't buy new LB, fair enough, but I just don't want to see Johnson there anymore. It feels so unnatural in watching a right footed player on a LB.

If we get another Lb in, i would rather see Insua on loan then sign for Juventus, or any other club for that matter, when i say on loan, i mean for a newly promoted premiership side, such as QPR etc, that would give him good enough experience, if he plays well then bring him back and try him out next season.

Johnson left back with young Robinson as back up not to mention mr glass.... I mean Aurelio. Unlike some I think three fighting for that place is sufficient.
