I'm starting to agree with this. As I said in another thread, it's high time Brendan's budget matched FSG's ambitions. We can't continue to rely on inexperienced kids.

I'm a big fan of Diame and I agree we should have signed him in the summer, but we already have in our midfield one of the best tacklers in England (Lucas) and the player who won possession most times in the entire league this season (Allen). Is a player like Diame really a priority?

It's not "steel" we need, nor "hunger", or anything like that. We're lacking quality, not any other intangible people use as excuses when things go wrong.

We need a proper attacking midfielder, not a clumsy youngster like Shelvey or a decadent "maestro" like Gerrard.

We definitely need a true 10 and we could really really use a wide player capable of scoring.

Wingers and forwards should be priority for January, then look at central midfield roles in the summer. We currently have Jonjo, Gerrard, Suso, Henderson, Cole. If another AM come in i think both Henderson and Cole would have to leave, which would probably happen in the summer, rather than January.

Honda and Diego are good shouts. Diego has played very very well in the Bundesliga this season in particular. If the rumors are true that Isco's buyout clause is 15m, there's another one. Personally, I doubt it'd be that low, however.
