One goal I will never forget...
      Jun 23, 2011 09:16:09 pm
First- Mods, I'm sorry if there's already a similar topic, did a search but couldn't see anything similar. Please merge if there is.

I'm sure the Twitter users will have seen this trending and it's interesting to see and remember some of them, and I was curious what everyone's on here is.

Can be LFC or any other team/national team etc.

I can't pick between 2, because they're both so memorable

      1. Steven Gerrard's screamer against Olympiakos because it was a stunning way to keep us in the CL (Andy Gray's commentary and the hugging steward also make it ;) )

      2. Alonso's penalty/rebound in Istanbul, you just knew we couldn't loose after that comeback. Sticks out for me as well as I don't think I've ever celebrated as much and been so overjoyed by a goal like that.

Steven Gerrard's against Olympiakos for certainties. For me - Vladimir Smicer scoring the second against Milan. The first was relief and hope, but the second really was the realisation. We all kind of knew an equaliser was on it's way when that went in. Took me a few moments to realise that it had actually gone in!

I did an LFC one a few months back here .

Mine will forever been Yossi vs Fulham. Just the buzz from that was unreal, always the first goal to spring to mind.

      Oh the irony. Konchesky!

Agree with both of you. I can't remember going more insane after a goal in the league. I was off my head screaming and cheering. I remember settling down after a couple minutes and they pan in on Yossi and i screamed 'My favourite Jew since Jesus!'. I was absolutely crazy at the time. Gutted when he left.

      For me, my Liverpool favourite:

This has to be my most memorable goal because of the reaction my friends and I had. I was in a banquet hall with about 150 people at 10:30 in the morning eating pancakes and we were all standing hoping, praying, for us to score and we had come so close countless times during that game. It was just an explosion of emotion in a room that was filled with tension as the time was ticking further into stoppage time.

I am linking the Spanish commentator just because I love the Gooooollllllllllllllllll lllllllllll  :lmao:

When I read the title of this thread, the first thing that came to mind was this, "Oooohh you beautyyyyyyy".

2005 against Olympiacos in the C/L.

That's the most memorable one for me. How badly we needed that goal, and the manner in which Captain fantastic scored that screamer, was top drawer stuff.

He's an absolute c**t now, but Torres' goal against Chelsea on his Anfield Debut.

The reason, about 30 seconds before he scored, I said to my mate in the pub, Got a feeling that Torres lad will be like Crouch, no goals til Christmas, Got soaked with beer from celebrating 30 seconds later. Classic.

My fave non Liverpool goal is Rivaldo's overhead kick against Valencia in 2001 that won the match and got them into the champions league. My fave lFC goal is Kenny's v Chelsea to win the league in 1986.

World class strike that. Every dog has its day and all that.

On that kind of theme I used to play upfront with former Liverpool ressie John Miles so his goal for Gillingham in the cup is one that will live long in the memory. Sadly no YT vid but it was a very special goal.
