The talent is undoubtedly there but so is the baggage, not 100% convinced about Banega just yet.

Just been looking at some more footage of this guy online, and the more I see of him, the more I am convinced that he is exactly what we need.

Apart from KS67's example, he seems to get dropped a lot mysteriously and have awkward tense moments with coaches.  Rumours that he misses training, goes out late, likes to party etc. which would explain why these things happen but far from confirm it.  If we iron that stuff out, he'll be a gem.

edit: He just strikes me as the type of character who has a huge ego and might be disruptive to a dressing room, I'm only passing on my observations from when I watch Valencia and while they might be somewhat wrong or could have been that I misinterpreted it, rest assured they are in good faith.

Valencia issue Banega hands off warning

Premier League clubs have been told to forget about signing Valencia star midfielder Ever Banega, with the clubs sporting director Braulio Vazquez expressing his determination to keep the Argentinean international at Mestalla.

Banega, 22, joined Valencia in 2008 from Boca Juniors, and although he struggled for games at the beginning of his career in Spain, leading to a loan spell at Atheltico Madrid, he has since gone on to become a pivotal member of the squad over the previous two campaigns.

Despite having to sell star players such as David Silva and David Villa in the past, Vazquez has quashed claims that the club would be willing to sell their Banega regarding reports linking the player to the England and Italy, with Premier League duo Liverpool and Everton reportedly leading the chase.

"It is true that two Italian clubs have asked us about Banega's situation - and English teams as well - but we do not want to sell Banega," Vazquez said.

"Now it is difficult [to put a price on him] and when you finish the Copa America he will be worth more money than that," he added.

i.e. we are going to wait until after the Copa America to jack up the price.

That looks the plan for him,See how he gets on in the Copa and stick another 10 million on price tag.

Just been told about 5 minutes ago that United are looking at putting in a bid once he returns from Copa America, apparently Fergie has sounded out his representatives and he's open to a move, I'll be gutted if he joins them.

Really hope that's not true but then looking at it, it would seem a good option for him. Who is going to challenge him for a spot in their midfield? Straight into the starting XI of a CL team
