Vodafone have worst 3G coverage in Merseyside

The BBC have been conducting a survey using an app on the Android handset.  To qualify I am with Vodafone and despite the maps on their website I have often been appalled by the mobile coverage in my area.  These maps seem to back up my claim - I'd be dubious about using a mobile network's own map - this BBC one is very up to date.

(NB. 3 Mobile do not have use the slower 2G network. They only use 3G and voice)

Been following this on the BBC. Interesting that the App is only Android. Probably show how dreadful the iPhone is for signal strength.

To be fair, O2 is poor in work, so much so it's cack. Vodafone much better in that place.

Off to Vodafone, 3 have the best deal, but no coverage where I live

My coverage is very hit and miss, may be the phone I don't know, but after todays farce I'm off.

What happened?

Changed my plan to a simplicity one. Told that it included 100mb of data. Wanted to add 500Mb bolt on, but they could not do that in the shop.

It didn't have data attatch, It had NIL

Lost internet straight away. Went back and cancelled new contract to return to previous one as I'd been lied to.

Done after waiting 25 mins on hold for customer services.

Now 5 hours after going back to unlimited data again, still no internet.

Customer services now closed.

Just checked my account on line and they have fu**ed it up completely. Changing tomorrow.

I have got a Business phone with BT who use the vodafone network and i swear its a sh*t service, i cannot even get network at time's, very frustrating.

RedPuppy has customer service's told you to read the small print about Internet Usage? they always play the " Internet connectivity" is not guaranteed.

Ahhh, I see. I had a similar problem with Orange.

I expect when you confront them to cancel your contract, they'll probably be willing to improve your contract just to attempt to keep you on board.

Most companies lie just to keep you happy for a while and let someone else deal with the problem once you realise they've been dishonest.

Great deal, but their signal is poor only where I live according to their coverage map.

Just seeing this thread now and although it may be off-topic I thought I'd share...

My first ever mobile phone was with Vodafone ('98/'99) - I canceled my contract and moved to O2 when in 2000 (I think) they became shirt sponsors of the Mancs. My good lady reckoned I was 'sad' but at least I slept better.
