Adam needs to hold his own in this game. Lucas cannot cover his back all day, so he needs to run and cover as well.

Probably the wrong thread but Tony Cottee just said on SSN that when Gerrard does come back into the team he can see Lucas being the one that is sacrificed He obviously isn't aware that Lucas is one of the best tackling midfielders in the league, on par with De Jong and that we wouldn't have a defensive midfielder otherwise.

On topic, what would people think of Enrique at right back and Skrtel left back? Enrique vs Bale and Skrtel vs Kranjcar.

Strongest 11 we have atm imo nice to see us fielding the best we can for every game

Worried about Bale vs Skrtle but with a hard tackling midfield can boss this. Would have prefered us to swap Enrique with Skrtle for this - He owned Wallcott who is pacey (all be it on the other wing). If we can keep them pressed they will find it difficult.

We need to get hold of Bale, Parker and Modric. They will be Spuds top players and we need to control them.

Cautious but optimistic - we can win this by a few if we play well. Looking for a big game from Carrol and Hendo - Suzrez and Lucas need to play at a similar level they have been to have an impact.

I think Enrique is too one footed to play Right back. Better to have round pegs in round holes were ever possible. Bale would destroy Carra with his pace too imo. Skrtel is probably the best choice, but not one I am too confident about.

Would not have picked the team or formation, hopes it works better than it did at Anfield in May. If we see Carragher starting hitting long balls to Carroll we will have big problems as I expect Kaboul and King will be comfortably able to deal with him in the air.

Also think we may have a problem down Skrtel side, Henderson is poor defensively and will not be able to provide the cover Kuyt would have been able to.
