Going to be at this game with Brooklyn Red - his first visit to Anfield and RedKenny, I'm forecasting a big win, we're due to batter someone and I can feel it in my water that this could be the big one  ;D

Another 8-0 would be a pretty good result, I'm sure Kenny will put out his strongest team available to him, shame that Stevie isn't going to be around for a few weeks, but we have a strong enough squad for us not to miss him too much.

Looking forward so much to the game.

Let's see if Eric is as much of a lucky omen as I was vs Birmingham! ;D

      I'd pick this team:

Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Lucas, Adam, Henderson; Suarez, Bellamy, Carroll.

      Why drop Adam?

Good form and are you saying Adam can't use his ability on the ball in the middle just because Swansea can. Come on! The way you described it was to introduce Spearing to stop them playing in the middle.

We are the home team, the bigger team and the better team. We use our strengths and let them worry about us. Adam is our most creative central midfielder without Gerrard in the side and the need for two midfielders who I would consider capable in attack but natural defensively is not necessary.

      Bet Adam starts anyway.

If you take away their only strength and at the same time don't drop our own quality i don't see the problem.

Spearing and Lucas together have been sensational and well worthy of playing together again. They have been our most complimentary midfield pairing since Kenny took over.

Great, i'm sure Charlie will start, but i was simply posting what i felt i would start with. Just like everyone else does in every other pre-match thread.

This wasn't you on the Swansea forum was it?

      Quote
I fancy a result.. Charlie Adam aint great.. gerrard has passed it.. carrol is s**t.. henderson is a poor mans joe allen.. kelly aint all what they make him out to be and enrique is overated.. kuyt gives the ball away alot same for lucas.. skrtel has his off days and carra is slow as f**k..

Get suarez, gerrard and downing out of the game and we could win this..

Would definitely play Bellamy in this. He will want to tear them to shreds :)

      --------Henderson--Lucas

Because I'm arguing with what your saying, does not mean I'm saying you should not post it.

It is a pre-match debate and we are debating no? Look at the title of the thread :)

      JD.
Id rather take my own appendix out than be associated with that nobhead stuff.
Many of us are a bit fearful to be honest .
      Its just kids mouthing off.
I was a the infamous game when Shanks had just passed away ;that was a case of us throwing away a win, mainly because of thetwat that was Dai Davies who even now remains Toshacks worst        signing or anyone else s come to that.
I was there when we were trashed 8-1 too after drawing at the VETCH another gamew we should have won .

Well that makes me feel at home as I tend to upset a few mainly because Im not as easily taken in .
Rodgers is a good manager but has bought some shocking players and has given contracts to players who will never play in the PREM.wE Also have 3 goalkeepers FFS

Of course and I would too but its a fact that we have been under the radar with the media only interested in the big 4 whoeverthefeck they are.
It could be the case MANCITY could dominate for ten years .
The PREM is seen as stale by many and frankly the atmosphere in some prem grounds are infinately worse than many in the Championship .

Never said you were shutting me down of sorts, just that if i think we shoukld play one player over another because of what Swansea have to offer, then it's just my opinion. I didnt quote every single team with Charlie in it and say 'Oh but Jay would be much better. You got it all wrong. Why play him ahead of someone who offers more when we don't have the ball?'

We saw against Norwich what Adam can lack in certain situations and i feel we could add something Charlie doesn't have in his game and not take away anything from our side by playing Jay.

These are the games we need to win if we want to be up there come the end of the season and I fully expect the lads to take all 3 points which ever team Kenny fields.

At first thoughts, I'd say rest Suarez, but I don't think Swansea should be underestimated. I'd play Carroll and Suarez, but if it is comfortable by half time, take him off and put Kuyt on up front - give him some game time in his favoured position. I think I'd also play Bellamy instead of Downing on the left because Downing has lacked any kind of va va voom and Bellamy could give us this.

                                   Reina

      Johnson     Skrtel    Agger     Enrique

               Henderson    Lucas    Adam

         Suarez          Carroll          Bellamy

I've kept Skrtel and Agger at the back because I felt they did better against The Albion than Carragher's done all season. I think the fame of being in a film is getting to his head  :D

I personally feel Spearing offers more in open play than Adam. His passing , defending , pace and work rate outweighs what Adam offers to the team imo.

When Spearing and Lucas plays, I think this allows our attacking players to be more confident and express themselves more. Infact, I think we'll be a better attacking team with Spearing and Lucas in the middle.

Personally, I'd like to see Henderson in central midfeld next to Lucas in this game. Would like to see what he can offer.
