They will be the greatest team of their time. Like Brazil was in the 60s and beginning of 70s, Uruguay untill 1950, etc. Yes it may be the consolidation of an era

Honorable mention to 1954 Hungary and 1974 Holland. Brazil in 1982 was one of the best ive seen too.

I was thinking the same. I think just like choosing the greatest player of all time, it's hard to argue one team from a different era vs a modern one.

And Hungary in 1954 scored like 20+ goals right? Obviously have never seen him, but you get the impression Puskas was something very special.

What a goal. Spain are so brilliant, they deserve every success they get. Giving the world a lesson of football.

And what a great player is Alba. Even better than Capdevilla was.

True, although one game doesn't change my opinion that Spain has been boring to watch compared to some of their more recent tournaments.

Reminds me of the first half in Istanbul. Spain, like Milan, were just unplayable. Italy haven't been terrible it's just that Spain have been so good.

And without a striker - revolutionary?

Marcos Senna is on Brazilian tv talking about the game. He was sensational in 2008, possibly Spain's best in the competition.

Not saying anything directed at someone. Saying it in general - people have been saying this. And it's far from the truth.

Can see the rule book being rewritten with regards to formations and playing no striker. It works so well for them.

It won't work for the red lion pub team...or maybe it will.

I can't understand the logic of bringing Thiago Motta on when you need to score at least twice. And Italy were unlucky too, he's injured and they've made all 3 subs already.

I don't think I have been more board during a game for a long time.

Spain may be technically gifted, but entertaining they are not.

      Just very functional.

Sometimes they can surprise. I wonder who said 'what difference will that make' when Rafa brought on Didi in Istanbul?!

As for Spain I really questioned whether they had the drive to win a third tournament on he trot. I felt it was made up for Germany so Spain have surprised me - more so considering they've been playing at what looked like only 70% for most the tournament. Germany were the same but unlike Spain didn't find top gear when it mattered most.
