                                                 Jones

        Johnson               Skrtel                     Agger            Enrique

                                      Shelvey       Henderson

                                                Gerrard

                         Suarez                                            Maxi

                                                  Carroll

Honestly think that team could do so much damage, the link up play between the 5 of Shelvey, Henderson, Suarez, Gerrard & Maxi would be immense. Carroll will also bring another dynamic to the team and after his performance tonight i think he could be very dangerous.

I see your thinking mate but unfortunately the link-up, interplay and movement you talk about from the likes of Suarez, Maxi and Gerrard is undone because Big Andy isn't the right type of player in front of them. For that type of approach your frontman needs to pull the CBs all over the show in order to create disorganisation and disharmony in their backline.

I think Kenny will play this team:

                                      Jones

      Jonno           Skrtel              Agger         Enrique

                            Spearing    Henderson

                                     Gerrard
          Kuyt                                                 Downing

                                      Suarez

Personally I'd like to see Bellamy in ahead of Downing and perhaps Shelvey in ahead of Henderson but I suspect Dalglish will go with this line-up. I truly hope that Agger starts the game and that Kenny isn't considering keeping him on the bench once again.

Premier League confirm we can't get an emergency loan ahead of this one.

Who's going to be our keeper on the bench then?

Leave Carra, Downing and Kuyt on the bench.

      Jones
      Johnson - Skrtel - Agger - Enrique
      Henderson - Shelvey - Gerrard
      Bellamy - Carroll - Suarez

I wouldn't start with Rodriguez as you will only get 45 minutes out of him.  I'd prefer to see him come on if needed.  We need a bit of danger from the bench in what could be a 120 minute game.

Going to be crucial that Gerrard pulls his finger out of his arse for this one, like he did in the derby the other month.  Can't afford any passengers.

      Assuming it's Danny Ward?

So we can get an out of contract player then.
If Gulasci is injured , and can't be recalled ,that only leaves the young lad Ward doesn't it.
Someone mentioned Skrtel's International team mate who's out ofContract , with Hearts , I think.
Don't know him at all but would that be an option.
With our luck at the moment we need to cover all bases.

Reina Doni Jones; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Spearing, Shelvey; Gerrard, Suarez, Maxi; Carroll.

Subs: Belford/Ward, Carragher, Coates, Henderson, Bellamy, Downing, Kuyt.

Agree with people saying Maxi won't be able to play 90 minutes but he doesn't strike me as someone who's going to come off the bench and get involved straight away (unlike Bellamy who will do exactly that). So I'd start Maxi, see if he can get a goal or create one and sub him for Bellamy just after half time.

Henderson and Shelvey are fighting for that one spot in midfield, both impressive yesterday but went for Jonjo as he'll give us a bit more of a bite in midfield.

Will be massive if we can get the back four that served us so well up to the Cup Final back. Even more so, with an inexperienced keeper behind them.

      Going for a 3-2 again.

      Seems so, or Belford.

I hope we appeal against the Doni sending off, because to be honest Jones doesn't fill me with confidence. Maybe make an emergency call for Dudek to come out of retirement ? Sadly it would be my legs that are wobbling every time Everton take a shot this weekend.

If we appeal doesn't the suspension get delayed? Doni will then no doubt get an extra penalty game ban but by that time Pepe will be back anyway .... so in a sense who cares?

      Jerzy Dudek

The 39-year-old officially retired last summer following a four-year spell as Real Madrid's back-up goalkeeper. Out of contract, the former Poland international is eligible to be signed outside of the transfer window and will forever be cherished at Anfield for his role in Liverpool's 2005 Champions League triumph.

Don't think so, they made a decision for the QPR defender before their match tonight.

Annoying thing is that Doni looked pretty good in goal for the short time he's played. Jones certainly doesn't fill me with confidence

It was a stone wall Pen and Red. No point unless you want an extended ban and fine.

We may as well appeal it as its a shot to nothing, if we lose the appeal as you say pepe will be back before his ban expires  anyway so an extra game added to it dosent affect us in the slightest, the suspension dosen,t get delayed either ,was great to see pepe there last night giving encouragement to the other keepers.

Carroll and Maxi both had decent matches last night, so subsequently both are certain for the bench.
