Surely a complete no brainer when we've not scored enough goals all season and there was a player on Saturday that scored his 69th, 70th, 71st and 72nd goals of the season?

For some reason I've come to realise this year that Ronaldo stands out in a Madrid team, and scores so many goals while not being the focal point in the team, the ball does not have to go through him every attack in order for the team to succeed, there is no pressure to pass to him every other time. Whereas if you look at Barca it's the opposite with Messi.

Setting aside Messi and Ronaldo, it would have to be Alonso or Cavani.

Got to go with Messi . I love watching him , he's on a different level .

A fit, in his prime, Robbie Fowler.

Mine would either be Javi Martinez or Edinson Cavani. 

Martinez can fill a number of roles for us as a CB, a holding midfielder, or even as a more dynamic deep lying creator because his distribution is fantastic!

Cavani would be an ideal finisher that we lack.  He has a bit of pace (something Carrol lacks) yet he is strong enough to hold his own against the bigger, stronger defenders he would face in England.  I think he'd strike up a fantastic partnership with Luis, and he'd bang in the goals that we have been missing this season. 

Both are highly unlikely, but of the two Martinez is the only semi-realistic option because his buyout clause is supposedly right around 30M which I believe he would be worth every penny.

Eh, he kinda is. If you look at the amount of goals that Barca score and see how many he is involved in, you will see that he is not so much a team player. Every attack has to go through him. Barca only play through Messi. Compare his record to the amount scored and assisted by others at other teams, and how the team play certain ways, through different players.

Xavi has said in interviews that he sometimes even just passes to Messi for the sake of it, just because Messi demands the ball so often.

Ibrahimovic is said to have left Barca because Messi wanted to play central and nowhere else, and there was rumours of Villa feeling the same way this year.

I'd take ronaldo every day of the week, he's stronger, faster & has a better long shot than messi.... you could put ronaldo into a poor team and he would still score and create where as i dont think the same could be said for messi without the great passers of the ball with him

Would say Messi is better than Ronaldo, but potentially a risk bringing him to the PL as we don't know if he'll be as good over here, dont think hes had many good games against english teams so id go for a player proven in the premier league, Emile Heskey.
