      No...

... because, first and last I want Liverpool F.C. to be a winning football Club, built around the best players; not 'a great business model' built around selling players for profit.

Sadly, the opinion of others, (those who don't share my passion, love and goals for the Reds), may differ.  :-\

Spot on bbb. The owners have made it blatantly clear that selling players on for a profit is one of the main 'snagging' points in securing a player under contract in any future negotiations or procurements.

It is quite saddening really when it used to be that we signed a player on whether we deemed him to be good enough to play for us.

If we buy 3 players in the Summer for a total of £60 million pounds and then proceed to qualify for the Champions League or better during the following years then those investments have already paid for themselves.

I wouldn't sell him for anything. He's the best player in the league and it would be impossible to find someone as good as him to replace him, because Messi and Ronaldo are unavailable.

      Amen to that my friend.

I'd say 50M is about his actual value.  However, he is by far the most important player in our team and he has 4 years remaining on his contract.  So, if he wants to stay, any team would have to pay well over his market value to prize him away - perhaps 70-80M.  On the flip side, if he were to put in a transfer request, then we would likely be forced into selling him for somewhere in the region of 40-50M.

Hopefully he stays and we also add a few more players of similar quality over the summer!!

I wouldn't but the club would.

      ;D

That's what I was coming in to post.

As others have said, his value is probably around that (50m) but if I were in charge I wouldn't sell him for that.

I think he's too important an although we could probably find someone skill wise to replace him for that kind of money, I'm not sure it would be very easy to find someone to replace him that played with his desire, intensity and heart. Love what he brings to the club and that itself is priceless.

It seems that people are saying overwhelming no! I agree IMO he is the best player outside the big 2 (Messi & Ronaldo) of course a little bias but i generally would not want any other player in his postion other than him! I feel he is definately worth more than 50 i'd say we could possibly get 60 but think he's worth 70 when Ronaldo went for 80mil.

This will test Liverpool's ambition if they keep hold or sell him. I wouldnt blame Suarez for leaving as long as its not to another EPL side because reality is he should be playing on the biggest stage.

No, but at the end of the day it will be the owners and Luis's decision I just hope they do everything they can to persuade him to stay but if after that Luis decides he wants to go, well then thanks for everything and on to the next one.

Being that I got to see Ian Ayre's smug face on TV this morning claiming Suarez was going nowhere,
I can only assume now that this is the dreaded "vote of confidence".

We wouldn't let Carroll go unless we had a player to replace him.

We won't be letting Suarez go, he loves the club.

      Alonso

      Torres
      Suarez

No pressure Coutinho or "mini Suarez" if you will.

Not quite a fair assessment mate.  Alonso and Masch were sold by the previous owners, and Torres put in a transfer request within the first few months of the new owners tenure.  Hard to turn down 50M for a player who wants to leave isn't it?

No because without Luis, 50 million or not, we'd be even further behind the top six than we already are. He is a player you build a team around, not a player you cash in on to rebuild the team.

No, I wouldn't... even if I ignore any sentiments towards the player, I wouldn't accept it because Suarez is worth more than £50M right now...

And perhaps more importantly, I think we're in desperate need of some stability... losing our star player, even if we get enough money to replace him, would bring too much noise to the building of this team.

If I owned him then yes I would cos I could do great stuff with £50m but I don't LFC do so in my opinion they shouldn't sell him.

It's a moot point anyway in this day and age, if he wants to go and he either has a release clause amount a la torres or someone like PSG or another cash rich club pop up with the right amount then it'll be see ya later Luis and thanks for the memories.

Modern football a bit sh*te that way.

It we sold Suarez, for any amount, it will make it harder to attract big decent players, we are/were over reliant on Suarez, we need more players like him, not instead of him.

I certainly would not sell Luis Suarez for any price at the moment,I would add however a lot of people thought Keegan was irreplaceable when we sold him.In the end we got an even better player in Kenny Dalglish thanks to Bob Pa isley.

Not a chance, the owners would have sold him about 3 times for that amount though.
