Wonder if we could see Agger or Toure brought into midfield.

Doubt it especially with Lucas still in the 11.

Interesting Brendan has chosen to drop Enrique, makes me wonder when Cissokho comes back if he'll actually be first choice, obviously with Sakho starting in the middle.

Definitely the right move to drop Wisdom and 4 excellent defenders at the back should ensure we're much more of a factor in both defending and perhaps more importantly (with our lack of creativity) attacking set pieces.

I don't like the idea that Henderson is getting such an advanced centre role.  He better have his game on like he did on Tuesday.

My mistake and as Redman says he'll most likely start right side with Iago behind Sturridge.

Four centre-halves, we better not concede at any bloody corners or someone will need shooting!

I suspect it will be Sakho at LB and Toure at RB. doesn't look the most fluid of lin-ups in an attacking sense does it? I would be a bit worried if it's still goaless at the 60 minute mark with this line-up.

I do fancy us to get a goal at a set piece though with Stevie's delivery and 4 CBs to attack the ball. I fancy a 1-0 win with Big Kolo getting the only goal.

Wisdom needs loaning. If Kelly isn't upto covering Johnson we need to fix that in January.

Decent options on the bench though if that's the case Scott.

Ibe, Alberto, Sterling and even Jose.

Agreed but just trying to make sense of why Sakho or Agger would be deployed at LB.

      Hope it's Agger.

Don't like the look of that team really. With Moses cutting in and Hendo drifting infield we need full backs who will push forward and give us some width. Don't see Toure and Sakho doing that too much.

Could be a set piece that wins this. Pretty depressing saying that before a home game against Southampton but I'll take any win!

I think it'll be Sakho but I'd have liked to have seen Jose keep his place.

Brendan normally likes attacking full backs but has went almost the complete opposite.

I'm intruiged by this side and it does show the boss has developed a bit of pragmatism and flexibilty that many of us thought he didn't have.

I wasnt expecting this line-up. At least we have a chance of scoring at set pieces today. Hope its not a case of looking to sure up to defend for most of the game.

I still stick with my 2-0 win... though its probably gonna be Agger & Sakho now :)

Yeah that's a good point but we are quite reliant on the width we get from Jonno and to lesser extent Enrique so it will be interesting to see if there is enough guille and creativity to go out and get the first goal. Certainly a bit of pressure on Aspas to be a factor today but i can't but think it would have been better to bring in Sterling and shift Henderson inside. that way it would have mattered less that we are missing two attacking full bakcs because both of our wide players would have been genuine attacking players.

Not sure why so many think it's strange.

Wisdom needed dropping, it would have been a choice between playing a back 5 with Hendo there, or a back 4 and Toure. The only 'surprise' to me is that Sakho is taking over from Enrique. However I think it's a very good choice, Sakho is excellent on the ball, has played LB before and should offer a better threat going forward, because Enrique has been terribly disappointing in that regard all season.

The only question it does provoke is if Enrique really is low in the boss' opinion that Cissokho may have been brought in as a starter rather than cover, time will tell on that one.

Very weird line up. 4 centre halves in one game, no full backs which are crucial in our system.

      Up to you again Danny!!
