You must of been watching a different game to me then lad, several other forums have said Gerrard had a decent game and got on the score sheet also.

That was a tough game (as usual with Stoke) and could have been a banana skin for us. It was a hard fought won but we deserved it, and great to see Sturridge back.

Gerrard was quality.

You obviously did not see the match. Without being unkind he was average at best. Consistently giving the ball away which directly lead to Stoke's 3rd goal. But he put in a good defensive stint.

Won several tackles, tracked back and won several tackles in our defensive third, the crossball to Johnson, Hamann and Carra thought he played well in the deeper role and also got better as the game went on and took the chance, scored the penalty and got on the score sheet.

If you are just using this game as a scapegoat against Stevie then you need your head examining. Ok, he made a couple of sloppy passes which most players in the team did let's not forget he has just returned from injury and playing away at Stoke. Brendan obviously still rates and feels he is still a major player within the squad that is why he started. Stevie is still a great footballer.

He had 4 attempts to defeat stoke in total and never did

enjoy the victory. That's what matters. Stevie is 34 this year he knows his days are numbered. He's never been a natural holding mid. I think with Sturridge back BR will drop Lucas back into a mid 2 with Gerrard. It's not a bad line up . I wouldn't mind trying Lucas further forward with Henderson but he needs time to adapt.

In any case we won so f*ck it well done to us!
