Liverpool supporters making the journey south to St Mary's were joined by an Anfield legend John Barnes on their long coach ride on Saturday.Barnes, who spent a decade at Anfield between 1987 and 1997, sang songs with Reds fans travelling to their Premier League game against Southampton at St Mary's.
He was on board a Barclays Bus, a scheme begun by the bank this year to say thank you to away supporters, and Barclays tweeted a video and pictures of him enjoying himself with the upbeat fans.
Barnes also took part in a question and answer session with fans on the Barclays Football Twitter account on Saturday afternoon.
When asked which season at Liverpool was his favourite, Barnes said: 'My first, we gelled so well it all just fell into place, an incredible season.'
Goals from Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard saw Liverpool to a 3-0 win over Southampton to keep their title challenge on course.
