      Yeah he was immense today.
One tackle he made, I think that was against Rafael again, the commentator on the radio said, Flannigan went through the ball a little bit late and just caught Rafael on the toe. I don't think it was deliberate but Flannigan has walked away, and rafael is on the floor clutching his ankle. And his shin, And his arm And his face Oh, And his head.

F***ing brilliant, all I could think of was, "Have some of that you b***ard".  Loved every minute of it.
Flanno knew what needed to be done and laid down his cards straight away , when I saw that tackle I knew how the game  would end up .

Gerrard the clear stand out for me. Absolutely bossed the midfield and fair play to Hendo and Allen for stepping up in the second half to help him out. I've criticised him a lot lately but I thought Glen put in a great shift down that right as well.

I disagree that we didn't play as well today as we did against Everton and Arsenal - we were better!

Regardless of Uniteds league position, we went to Old Trafford and absolutely battered them. Who does that? Other than City two seasons ago, that is. Not for one second did we look like an away team, like we did for spells against Southampton. We went there and dominated from the first minute to the last. We could've had FIVE penalties! suarez maybe could've scored two even. No team is expected to dominate like that at Old Trafford, especially us who they sincerely hate.

If that was at Anfield it would've turned very ugly.

Ps.. Anyone got a clip of that Sturridge skill late on? Pure class!

Never ever seen Liverpool dominate utd like that at old Trafford, ever We were comfortable from minute 1 to 90 and that's with the front 2 being not at there best!!

Judging by the poll Stevie gets motm but balls to that young Flanno walks it for me

      Were going to win it.....

He played as good if not better today than his first game against City a few seasons back and that was a cracker of a game for him .

      Man of the match?

      All of the above.
Was nervous with Flanagan, man he was up for this but I thought he was heading for a red.
Called every one of Gerrard's penalties the right direction.
Should have been a hat trick Stevie. :D

Wouldn't have skewed it if that went 4/5/6 - 0.
I've never seen such a unfocused United side.
      Defensively undisciplined.
      Predictable attacking.

      What a day.

I'm still bouncing, still buzzing and can't stop smiling.

Probably as easy a game as we have played at Old Trafford for 20 years. Personally I think we went out with the right attitude, Gerrard led from the front, making and taking some hard tackles and we just didn't let the mancs intimidate us.

The only disappointment (if you can call it that) is that we didn't score 5 or 6.... although if we had, the rumour that Moyes is going to be sacked would probably be a reality by now.

Keep our heads, keep working hard ,keep playing as we are and I think we can keep on winning....

      Well in lads.

I can never recall beating them so easily we never got out of second gear and seemed to cruise through that one. It was just too easy for a big derby game. The shower of sh*t deserve everything they get now, Van Persie was garbage, the micropohone looks a championship player and giving 300k/week to Rooney is laughable.

Anyways to talk about our lads now immense all over the park from defence to midfield to attack, sublime. Was not as comfortable with Sterling in the hole as his ball retention and vision is not of Coutinho's standard yet, but the lad put his body on the line and offered plenty of running. Gerrard was superb I was livid for him when he hit the post really wanted him to get that hat trick.

I do regret us not putting them to the sword completely and putting another 2-3 past them.

      Well in you redmen!

      Quote from Redangel
Agree Debs, delighted we won but the impact isn't the same because as you say, they were so s**t, and to be fair we weren't at our best, not that we needed to be.

We've got nothing there for the past 5 years, and not much more in the years before then, so we've every right to celebrate this result, regardless of the challenge we faced.

As difficult as the past few years have been, we always gave more than 100% at home to the mancs, regardless whether we had anything else to play for or not. So those of us who urged caution before the game feared that they would throw the sink at us. Instead they barely opened the door, then packed up and went home after the third penalty.

On the penalties, getting a penalty down that end in the first half is rare, getting three in one game is unheard of. Twenty years ago, to the month in 1994, we needed a penalty down the same end and got it, only for the ref to change his mind after being summoned by his lino. In 2004, Danny scored from the spot in the last 3pm Saturday ko. We've only won once since then before today, so all wins there are welcome. :)

Delighted with that result and it was worth getting out of bed at 2am this morning to watch us totally demoralise the tw*ts. Give our lads full credit for attacking from the kick  off and manure never had a cat in hells chance. All the lads played well but  John Flanagan had a good game and that must give immense satisfaction to Kenny Dalglish to see the progress John has made.

In his recent autobiography Sir Alex Ferguson, face seemingly set in concrete as he suffered with United's supporters on Sunday, could not resist a swipe at Liverpool as he wrote: "My reading of their squad was that they needed eight players to come up to title-winning standard."
If you are feeling particularly brave, you could suggest to the old streetfighter that on this desperate evidence it is United who require those eight players to even dream about title number 21.
No such concerns for Liverpool. They gained another illustrious admirer in Diego Maradona as he looked on with pleasure.
Rodgers was coy while Gerrard was bullish but there is no hiding place for Liverpool any more - they can win the title and this was the performance of a team that believes it will.
