I'm just not sure this lad is up to it. If Danny gets injured (and lets face it it happens) will teams fear us with Remy up top, Lambert to come off the bench? I'm not sure they will, and how often will we be in games where you'll think "I'd pull Sturridge here and give Remy a go, he might be a better option"?

If this is it for front players, I'll be disappointed if I'm honest. I'd rather us go for a character striker, a Ballotelli or a Bony, a Jovetic even.

I'd like to see Remy and someone like Balotelli Mick.

Remy would replace Fabio and Balotelli to come in with Luis leaving.

It doesn't matter whether teams fear us or not, that isn't what will decide the outcome of matches. You want Balotelli? A player who has caused mayhem wherever he has gone whilst dividing the dressing room each time. Also, Jovetic? There's not a chance City would sell him to us and he's their 4th striker who they are going to need.

I think Remy's ability to play wide and his cheaper price tag got him the nod over Bony Mick.

Do you think that's it for strikers? I am still hoping (rather than expecting) one more.

I think it can't be unless Brendan sees either Markovic or Sterling as potentials for the up top slots. We know that Sturridge is a tad injury prone, and not only that if we go into a game with two front men, it would mean we only have one possible replacement. I think it would be VERY dangerous to only sign one more front man.

I'm not hugely excited by the signing of Remy either, but seeing it as a replacement for Borini, from whom I never expected that much impact anyway, makes me feel like it's a good bit of business.

I might not be overly confident if Sturridge is injured and Remy comes in, but it certainly looks much better than Borini coming on instead.

I'd still expect more signings, hopefully a big one like Marco Reus.

Spot on Saint, as Si says I see Remy as more a replacement for Borini than Suarez. Lambert as the replacement for Aspas and in those two deals we've improved our options no end.

To answer Mick, I would sometimes think that Remy replacing Sturridge would look like a smart move, it will certainly keep Danny on his toes. While I think there's every chance Studge could finish top scorer in the prem he has his barren spells too or games where he's just not at the races, Remy has proven he can do it in this league with a woeful Newcastle team. With the chances we create I can only see his record improving.

I really can't see a single thing to knock this deal on, smart move.

Fee is agreed. Wage negotiations will be interesting if he is truly seeking 80K a week.

I saw on Twitter he agreed to 90k per week. Not sure the source though.

Good signing, we need to replace Luis' goals and Loic will bag 15-20 of them next season. Great value for money.
