Hate losing to the mancs.

We need another striker, I think that was clear last night, Rickie just isn't good enough to be starting on his own up front.

I think Coutinho and Sterling are going to be great for us this season, but even with Sturridge I think we still need someone else who can put the ball in the net. 

Henderson, Gerrard (first half), Sterling, Coutinho, possibly Sakho did well.

Mignolet did nothing to ease my worries about him. Lambert was poor, Johnson and Kelly showed us just why we are buying fullbacks and Allen drifted in and out as he usually does.

F***ing hate losing to the mancs and especially to that cheating swine Rooney.... I really thought the ref was going to give a goal!

Thought we won the first half easily, but the longer the game went on the more you could see the mancs would win it.

Some pretty OTT descriptives in here like Dire etc. It was a friendly for a start aimed at improving fitness. You can see quite clearly from the 1st preseason game we are improving and getting towards the level we need come the game v Southampton. All the caveats re fullbacks and another striker needed I think overall it has been a good tour.

Keeping clean sheets is a serious problem for the team. Once we concede one goal, you just know that for the next few minutes we'll be all over the place and usually concede another cheaply.

I just feel when the tempo is upped by the opposition, it's inevitable we leak goals. Mignolet doesn't command the box well enough so balls can fly in near the goal very easily and panic sets in.

I think Can can. Can can't now, but in time Can can and if Can can't then we can Can and get someone who can. Infact can that idea I know Can can and Can will.

I wouldn't judge anything on pre season.. If you're looking for quality then just simply don't bother with it.. Wait til the real stuff starts again

Now does anyone still think we can rely on Sturridge, Sterling, Lambert and Borini as a strike force to replace Luis after last night? We didn't need to sign ten players and have more than a thirty man squad, we needed to spend big on key positions such as a replacement for Luis and sort out the defence and have serious competition for the goalkeeper. There is too much emphasis on "ones for the future" at our club. Sort the here and now out first, worry about the future once that's done.

I think I may have been one of those poor kids. 

Was an interesting game but seems as if our last season flaws are still present. On the upside Raheem and Philippe looked very good.

Would like to see more of Ibe this season. Would feel he'd be better off getting slowly eased into our team opposed to going on loan to another championship team.

Havent read through this but can anyone tell me if the doom and gloom merchants have raised there heads calling for the managers head and saying well do well do finish 6th etc??

What I will say is we cant have Johnson and Skrtel anywhere near the back 4 on a regular basis this season if were serious about challenging

Me personally I wouldn't be proud to share a prediction of us losing to the scum.

I'm not sure but I expect us to challenge for the title.

Looked like LVG had Utd scampering around. I thin it will take a lot more than that come August. He is a good coach but sometimes you wonder why they went for him. It isn't like he has been brought into Bayern like Heynckes was. When Bayern had the squad and Heynckes just had to get them all on the same page. LVG will have to build a team. They have a lot of dead wood really and I include Rooney in that. He doesn't give a f*ck anymore and he won't get/stay fit. I mean they are taling about Evans being Captain FFS.

Whereas us, BR has us ready to go.

When I start talking of Johnson people will say I have an agenda against him. Apart from being able to boom forward and occasionally scores a wonder goal suddenly he becomes a top rated defender again.

Just refreshed back and see how many times he was caught napping and Hendo, Skrtel and Stevie had to scramble back to cover him on numerous occasions.

Don't get me wrong, Glen is a good defender but not good enough when it comes to being our right back.

This position needs some serious fixing.

We were great to see at times, it's a shame we had Lambert leading the attack. But sometimes we controlled the field completely. My real concern is the DM spot, I hate seeing Gerrard alongside Allen there. Allen is useless and Gerrard gets his tackles right half of the time only.
