8 in Europa and 2 in FA to reach the final.

Cheers. No wonder Europa is so hard to win.

9 games left to win the Europa Cup... round of 32 (2 legs), round of 16 (2 legs), q/f (2 legs), s/f (2 legs) and final.

Mind you, if we win then we get champions league next season anyway.

These 5 head to head league games will decide this:

      (A) Southampton - 22nd Feb
      (H) Man City - 1st March
      (H) Man Utd - 22nd March
      (A) Arsenal - 4th/5th April (TBC)
      (A) Chelsea - 9th/10 May (TBC)

      Massive games...

      13 games in the league.
4 games including FA Cup Final.
      9 games including UC Final

26 games if Liverpool make both finals.

We've got some great momentum now and we have belief back, if we can at least draw the next 2 games then we'll finish 4th but I fancy us to beat one of Southampton or Citeh and draw the other. Southampton seem to be running out of steam at the moment, which is no surprise, and Citeh are so unpredictable this season that it totally depends on which team turns up on the day.
At the moment I'm fairly confident we'll end up in the top 4.

26 games is a lot but we have options now compared to last season. Our signings made in the summer are beginning to show their worth to the squad.

Lucas, Sterling and Gerrard all out who are all key players for us, yet we still fielded a strong side at Palace and got through the game comfortably.

Obviously we have tougher fixtures coming up but I'm not worried about some players feeling tired or picking up any injuries/suspensions. The key for Brendan is not too make too many changes at once which I think he has been guilty of in the past. For example if we draw Bradford in the next round of the cup at home, I do not want to see him start with 11 fringe players. Maybe two and give certain players a breather but do not put in the likes of Lambert, Borini, Lovren, Enique, Johnson, Allen etc all in at once.

Lucas and Sterling sitting out a couple of games will do them some good, Sturridge finding his fitness and then with Stevie coming back in towards the end of the season we could really finish strong. Ibe is like a new signing and Balotelli all of a sudden looks like he has a point to prove.

I think we have enough to cope and expect us to go far in both cups and finish in the top 4.

End of the day we have Emre Can, and that's all we need.

Brendan will have his hand forced through cup tied and suspended players too.
Ibe is cup tied for the FA Cup and Markovic won't be eligible for the Besiktas game (and more), so I'd expect them to feature heavily in the league.

Can, Skrtel, Sakho seems locked in at the moment.

The biggest challenge will be keeping Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Hendo, Coutinho & Sturridge fit.

      Ugh.
Meant he can't play the FA Cup and Markovic is banned from Besiktas,
so they replace each other in games.

      Fixed it.

Lets just win on Thursday, without any injuries. Then go and beat the saints. if we beat them, which I think we are well capable of, then I will really start to believe we can make the top 4. Only issue for me, is the thursday - Sunday games. will we be too tired or fatigued, and what will Brendans line up be.  Will he see one game as more important than the other, or will he go full on for both ?
Anyone know what sort of form Besiktas is in at the mo ? I haven't a clue.

Win tomorrow sees us 2 off 3rd and 3 off 2nd. Wow.  Serious statement. 6 points from the next 2, would take 4, would see us in a great position

We have to capitalize when the likes of Manure fall over like they have against Swansea. Many many thanks to Jonjo Shelvey for a cracker of a goal.

Totally agree. A draw tomorrow isn't enough IMO as it leaves us still four points behind Utd despite them losing.

A win will put the pressure right under Van Gaal's arse; and I reckon he will explode in the run in when the media/fans turn on him.

Down to 10/3 to finish top four now, could have had 8/1 a few weeks back. Unfortunately we are in the middle of a nightmare run of games, but win at Southampton tomorrow and the fox really will be amongst the battery hens.

We had better win or the fox will have eaten all the battery hens.

I reckon a draw will be enough tomorrow, but I fancy us to play a lot better than against Besiktas and win this.

No room for a draw, maximum points required.  Got a feeling it'll be a hell of a game.

      Here's hoping eh?

I'd be very surprised if it did end in a draw given the way both teams like to play. Can't see Koeman changing his style and parking the bus simply because they're playing us. It'll be a case of who can dominate the midfield or who can do the most damage on a counter-attack.

If we win today, not top 4 but top 3. A draw will leave everything open.
