Getting ready to doff my cap here! Need to do my own research but evidently very highlighted and a good few posters in here (who's opinions I value) have been banging in about this lad for a couple of years now.

I was crapping myself that we would spunk the Sterling money on a player like Bolassie so fingers crossed this one comes off, it certainly looks good!

The deal suggests other teams must have been interested.

Great to think we finally burnt another club out of the running for a player we wanted.

About as silly as us sending Ian Ayre to sort a transfer.

How much have you seen of him?

You wont be saying that by the end of the year, this signing rivals Coutinho for me as 2nd best signing of recent times (ofc Suarez is top). Granted there's not much competition but I have no worries at all if we spent £35m on this lad.

I mean come on, look at this for numbers (remember hoffenheim only scored 49 goals this season):

Roberto Firmino has scored 32 goals and created 37 assists in 73 league and cup appearances for Hoffenheim in the last two last seasons.

Sterling out for 50m and Firmino in for 29m seems like a good deal to me even though the price is higher than previously quoted :D Praying this goes through

We're selling Sterling for £50m so essentially getting Firmino in as a swap deal + £11m (after QPR take their cut). So let's say we get Illarramendi too for about £20m that's £9m net spend and our team would be transformed!

This guy has been consistently good for the last 2 seasons, but most importantly, he has grown to become a real team player. I actually think he's a better footballer than Suarez, but doesn't have that work rate and goal instinct that Suarez has.

We should play him how we played Suarez in the 13/14 season, allow Firmino to play higher up and roam, then we'll see the best in him.

Disagree. We need a striker. If we got Rondon, Bacca & Firminho, team transformed.

Hope he strikes up something with Coutinho if he comes.

Can't stop thinking that his name is close to Ralph Firman...who was a pretty bang average racing driver for Jordan f1 team back in 2003 (from what I recall)

      Apologies - I digress!

I disagree with this. I think our next focus should be on Illara, then Clyne.

Last season, one of the major problems in the attacking area was the creative aspect, but with Firmino, Coutinho & Illara (if we get him), we'll create loads of chances.

I don't know PM, I thought the major issue was having anybody capable of finishing myself...but YMMV
