Could there be a better, or indeed worse game to kick off the season..?

Stoke is always a hard place to go - and they taught us a lesson last season - however, that was under very different circumstances. Going to be a tough afternoon, and at this point would take a draw with a good performance. I am hopeful of a win - we should be going for all 3 points but this season many will fail at Stoke...

On a positive, this 'new look' side they have assembled looks like they want to play football - not the old style we have become accustom too over the years. So being their first outing 'Barca-Light' could struggle to play how they want and revert - without Shawcross that could be an issue.

A big game for Big Ben today - he could be a massive difference for us - would love to see him take the game to Stoke today...

No Rossiter for the U21's, and he was training with the first team vs Stoke. So I'm taking a guess and suspect Lucas is playing with Rossiter on the bench

Stoke is a tough place to go, never too confident going there.

We have what it takes to win it, hopefully comfortably. Would take a win of any form though. Hope some of the new boys settle in well.

With the players we have at our disposal and them losing 4-5 of their key players, we really should be looking for a win. However, I still have doubts, not because of our players, but because of Rodgers, but we shall see throughout the course of the season whether he has learnt from his mistakes or not!

Typical, wait for 2 months and work book a flight at 17:30.

Its amazing how a summer can wipe out all the negative vibes. Ashes yesterday and hopefully a good start today.

Think we'll smash them TBH, I get being cautious but panicking over Stoke... The sights should be conquering Europe. Last seasons end was terrible but if we are going to be a great team keeping BR and signing some really surprising talent, we'll get an idea after this game how things may lay out.
