Tactics were spot on today well in Jürgen

Great to see a happy Jürgen giving hugs again today.. but it wasn't exactly master tactics to play Sturridge now was it?

Delivered when needed.. Well in boss. There's one final hurdle. Let us not underestimate a relegated boro whose players would give it all in their final game in the league. Hope the players are not thinking about the famous nights next season as the job is still not done.

A win and a Hendo appearance(one can hope) for 5 mins would do well.

Jürgen got the selection spot on today.

He's been too reluctant to play 2 strikers against the weaker teams this season ( and last season, actually). Hopefully this game is the one were the penny drops. Same again against Boro, Jürgen. ( Or you can play Firmino as a second striker instead of Origi, might actually be the best option. But 2 up front against teams sitting deep is the way to go.)

To be fair it wasn't just about bringing in Studge, he dropped Coutinho into a much deeper role and that went ok didn't it? He got it bang on and deserves the plaudits.

I don't know why there is this propensity to make back handed congratulations to Jürgen when things go well. He takes criticism when he kicks it up but today he got it all right and deserves his just due. One more game and let's start getting this squad right for a title challenge next year.

24 pts in the last 11 games since the defeat to Leicester, may not have been pretty at times but 2.2 ppg is pretty good going at the business end of the season.

Yup progressing nicely but not nicely enough to where either the manager or FSG think we can skimp by without spending...just right imo.

Which means that Firming, Coutinho,and Origi were also ineffective. Sturridge showed more effort in the few minutes he was on,  than Origi and Firming showed in the whole game.

But he needs to stay fit over a whole season for him to be effective, which seems to be the conundrum!

Jürgen wants Stevie to be next manager .

The aim was Champions League football, and we got it.

Only second time in eight years - progress. Perhaps the most encouraging aspect compared to 2013-14 is that we did it not relying too much on any individuals, and instead focused on the team aspect. That can only be good and also looks good on the manager in the sense that a good number of these players adapt well to his system.
