Pre Match : Liverpool v Villarreal, 5th May, 20:05, Second Leg

As we all know it's our biggest game of the season barring the League Cup Final, but the potential rewards are much greater.

We will need another atmosphere like Dortmund at Anfield to carry the team as they are starting to look a bit leggy at the end if the season.

My only worry is our midfield but hopefully the news of Can being ready will be a boost.

I would go with the following.

      Migs
      Clyne
      Lovren
      Toure
      Moreno

      Can
      Allen
      Milner

      Firmino
      Coutinho
      Sturridge

Benteke to be our secret weapon off the bench!

I believe that Klopp will play 442 with Benteke and Firmino up front.
Midfield will likely be Lallana, Milner, Coutinho and Allen. If Coutinho is still lethargic Klopp will start either Lucas or Can (if fit).
The back 4 picks itself up based on availability.

Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Toure, Moreno, Can, Allen, Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge.

What I think Klopp will do: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Toure, Moreno, Can, Allen, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino.

Jürgen will start Benteke in our biggest game of the season even though he has barely used him all season and opted for  Sturridge, an inexperienced Origi or even playing Firmino as a lone striker instead? Makes sense.

Not much enthusiasm about this considering it's such a big game  ???

Team coach being met again to get the atmosphere going early.

Can possibly being available for selection.

Daniel getting another 90 minutes under his belt.

Benteke coming on and scoring after his latest injury and struggles to get in the team beforehand.

It's going to be a great night at Anfield again.

Gut feeling is that it's a step too far for us with the injuries but if there is any team that can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat it's us.

They are playing well, we are not.

An opportunity for some who disappeared at Wembley to make amends and prove that they can be trusted on the big occassions.

The problem with that 11 (similar set up to the Dortmund home game, put Origi for Sturridge), we needed to be very compact for the first 15-20 minutes when the opponent would try to 'make things happen' by their pressing, pace, etc. Sturridge and Firmino, esp the latter of late, have very little to offer defensively, leaving Milner and Allen to shield our wonderful defence.

I would say, start 4-3-3 with Coutinho and Lallana either side of Studge, and a midfield 3 of Milner, Lucas and Allen hoping we have enough creativity to score a couple in the first half!

No idea what makes you think Sturridge offers more than Firmino defensively?

That late goal they scored was a real hammer blow last week, but I'm expecting us to come out fast and them to counter attack. We always concede so a minimum of 3 goals needed. It's going to be another one of them nights! 3-1 in the last minute will do.

I saw enough in the first leg to convince me if we commit men in the box and play with more intensity we will score against them but we must play Sturridge and in my opinion be 2-0 up at half time to have any chance of going through.

I am not convinced we will keep a clean sheet so looking at 3 goals again and it worries me.

I am not sure about this one. They are so disciplined at the back, especially this game. They have no reason to do anything. I am sure they are going to park two buses and we have go thru them.

What I noticed from last Thursday was that we had chances - we just didn't take them (& hit the post in process). So, it gives me hope that we can get couple of goals to get thru but just not sure.

      Doubters to believers mate  :gt-happyup:

They'll throw themselves to the ground at every perceived touch, fanny about at every restart, try to disrupt our flow but I don't care how disciplined they are, or how many banks of buses they park, we're going through  ;D

We need to be facing the Kop second half as well... good omen that !
