No, it should mean that he’s passed protocols. Of course it’s hard to say whether that is the case or not and I’d certainly hope they would err on the side of caution but when you involve international associations and competitions who knows what may or may not be going on.

I thought Dias was here to put pressure on Sadio but after this AFCONsemi-final, I think it's clear Sadio is here to stay. He's taking no prisoners, he's as sharp as ever and has been a superb leader on the pitch. If he plays at this level, Luis Diaz will find it hard to play.

It's healthy competition and I think Sadio will improve thanks to that.

I don't deny that I've been very frustrated by him since last season. He has been far from his best form we are now seeing. Don't you agree?

He had a poor second half of last season after coming back from Covid. This season he's been good - not absolute peak form, but nobody has that except in bursts - but playing well. Don't get some of the talk of him coming towards the end of his time with us at all. Diamond of a player and probably will be for a few years yet.

Look forward to having Sadio Mane, back in the squad. I still think he has plenty to offer to the side. Always seems to show commitment when playing, looking to score goals.

His life story really is inspiring he literally did come from nothing and he clearly remembers where he came from and is proud of it. Cracking lad always really thought very highly of him.

One of the things that I like about Sadio is that he is supposedly on about half the wages of what Mo n Bobby are on but has never caused any problems over it. I mean, ok, he's still on ~£100k a week, which I think is an obscene amount anyway so I'm not going to go over the top about him not asking for more, but there's no doubt most players these days would have been demanding more when they compare themselves to their fellow key player teammates.
