Fair shout.
For me, I just hate hearing words bandied about like how it's embarrassing and how we're a laughing stock.
As I said the other day Klopp's in-game management was sh*te the other day and after time to reflect I'll go against what I said in that he chose the right team. He didn't.
It really is fair game to slate the last few performances. Totally.
At the same time, though, it's also fair to point out that we have been boss for the most part. What riles me most is that nothing is being done about the squad. It's been called wrong somewhere as it's clear to see we need additions.
Before someone gives me the old story that January is sh*te it isn't. I honestly wouldn't have give a f**k if we even bought people who may have cost a few quid but weren't long term. We were in a title race.
A title race. Would anybody have been arsed if a quick fix helped us win the league?
It should have been said to scouts what a massive world there is out there and that if they don't find somebody then there will be consequences.
Don't dare come back with excuses, that type of talk.
Sick to f**king death of us not kicking on, whoever's fault that is I don't care but it's somebody's.
Sh*te depth, sh*te selection, sh*te defending again, sh*te in game management.
I wanted this league and we really haven't given our chances of winning the f**king thing a fair go due to a complete lack of expertise and management.
Yeah, I know Klopp will kick us on next year, hopefully, but we had ourselves in a great position there and we've made it harder for ourselves, not easier.
Does the 08/09 and 13/14 January windows ring a bell with anyone?
Good post and several points mentioned which I agree with.
Back in July I looked at our squad and thought we would be lucky to make the top four. Obviously before the season starts we are all optimistic and we all hope for the best, but deep down inside I thought we were too weak to mount any sort of challenge. I was also disappointed with the signings of Mane and Wijnaldum, both of whom I didn't rate at that time. I didn't think they were anywhere near the standard required to play for Liverpool. So if you had offered me our current position in July, yes I'd have taken it.
Up until lets say January I've been amazed at how we've played this season. Blowing teams away 3, 4, 5 nil. We have been brilliant at times and we were playing so well I thought we would win the league.
A lot has happened since July. The Manchester clubs have fallen apart which nobody expected. I think we all predicted that they would both challenge. We were sitting top of the league at one point too after playing most of our rivals away from home - nobody expected that either. Mane and Wijnaldum (more Mane), have slotted in and performed very well for us. Things were looking great, we were looking strong.
The last few weeks its almost as if we've ran out of gas though and its heart breaking. We were in such a strong position only a few weeks ago and now it feels as if we've blown it. We look more likely to drop out of the top 4 than win the league at the moment don't we? We're bloody closer to everton than we are Chelsea! How scary is that.
So I'm frustrated and I'm annoyed. I come on here to discuss whats happening, whats going on and how has this happened to us and all I see is the same people saying well it was amazing that we got this far, or nobody expected a title challenge anyway, and just pages and pages of sh*t like that and it just boils my blood. We aren't in July any more, we are in January, and a lot has happened since then and the dream of winning the league actually became a reality. We could have done it this season.
Its disappointing that once we found ourselves in such a position, we haven't strengthened in this window to give us that push. Once we knew how important Mane was to us, which was evident very early on in his LFC career in my opinion, we haven't done anything at all to replace him temporarily. Correct me if Im wrong, but we have won just one game since he has gone to the AFCON and it was Plymouth away - a goal scored from a corner! Coutinho has been injured, Matip has, Hendo has, some of our other lads need a rest etc. We haven't prepared for it and we haven't done anything to fix it. The wheels have fell off as a consequence.
Some honesty on these boards would be nice and refreshing. It really winds me up getting told I shouldn't be angered or disappointed because I didn't expect us to be in this position before the season started. That's now irrelevant.
