I challenge anyone to argue against the need for VAR, when they see the goal Cardiff "scored" this weekend in the lower divisions. Two offences by the same player and without VAR to check it, the goal stands. Outrageous.
So if you do that, the decision stands anyway. What then? It was not handball, it was not offside, so the chances of having it overturned in this league, are remote.
Even with those restrictions on it's use, almost every goal scored in the league this season has been correct, and certainly much more than was the case without VAR. So we are much better off having this system than not.
