Gomez's physical strengths are what set him apart in terms of young centre backs in the world, could be anything he wants if he stays fit.

all our lads are really strong and dont get knocked off the ball easily

I think his broken leg set him back but he couldn't get in because Joel was superb. Now he is fit and healthy and raring to go he is like a turbo charged Virgil

Nice first goal but we got a bit sloppy in dangerous areas the rest of the half. Really need a little more creativity.

Very good half really should be further in front final ball wasteful at times Mo has made countless excellent  runs. These will tire second half big time been chasing shadows

Very good display against a very good defence, need a few more goals though, I'd consider subbing Origi or possibly Elliott for Bobby.

Just a little warning at the end there which Virgil snuffed out inperiously, that while we are toying with them in the game, the second half we need to put them to bed.

I like it when its HT because Klopp always talks about showing them the spaces. Theres sh*t loads for us out there tonight, and we have had lots of chances to make chances where we have either misplaced passes or chosen to come back and across.

Its been a very controlled half, but they are there to be put out of their misery if we see the pass, and if we see it, make it.

What the hell is going on with Bobby?! He’s killing so much of our momentum, time and time again he could have played Salah through but he’s taken too many touches and played it back or just given it away. He’s doing more for their defence than he is our attack.

Hendo has been guilty of taking too long too, a couple of our breaks he too could have played Salah through but he’s taken too long and the chance has gone.

Gini is bossing that midfield though.

Great to be ahead, and you can see it's a comfortable position to be in as we can now dominate the ball. However we look clueless in attack. It is slow, and no-one seems to know how to use the ball - passing it to each other, but without purpose and speed. Sheffield Utd have players behind the ball (basically crammed inside their box) and are dealing pretty well with the balls we are aimlessly hitting in (with most not reaching the target).

Have to make better use of the ball in that final 3rd and up the tempo in attack.

Misfiring since the goal. Front 3 not connecting smoothly. Just not quick enough to find space.Controlling the game but need to play that killer ball.

Really enjoyed that half, both playing the game hardly a foul, some nice one touch football, we need to step it up in the second half just in case they sneak one 😁

And Milner keeps crossing behind the attack too. Uncanny how often he does that.

Good half that. Totally in control, mustn’t get complacent, and another goal would settle my nerves if no one else’s.
They well organised at the back, but if they wanna get anything out of the game, they gonna have to show more ambition which will suit us.
Just stay solid red men, they surely gonna tire after all that ball chasing.

      Front 3 not connecting smoothly.

It’s not the front 3 as a unit, it’s Firmino, he’s dropping deeper and doing nothing with it. Salah has missed a great chance but he’s made countless runs that have been timed bang on but we aren’t playing the ball or doing the wrong pass

Second half we usually pick it up probably after Jürgen's roasting.  We haven't got a lot of options on the bench have we.

Sometime a young kid can freshin it up but I doubt Klopp will risk him at 1-0...3-0 maybe..
