Me too, he looks like a proper player. I think he would do really well under Klopp because he seems like Klopp type of a player to me, runs his off and doesnt give up.

True, but VVD was supposed to be done over the summer.  It was only the stupid "press release" and subsequent "apology" that kept him at Soton for another 6 months.  We had everything approved and sorted, but we tripped on our own dick trying to get the deal over the line. 

Unless you see significant sales I wouldn’t hold my breath on any signings. This window or summer. Our model is pretty clear. We don’t have the funds to splash without balancing with outgoings.

John Henry has to ensure his personal wealth growth of £500mil isnt dipped into to improve his asset.

Caulker was probably another "need emergency cover" situation as i don't think he ever played a minute for us.

Strange signing, even as a defender in his natural position he’s complete trash and wouldn’t have wanted him anywhere near the team, but we went the extra mile and played him as a striker late in on a few games. Think he got the assist for the Lallana winner against Norwich, or at least was heavily involved in the build up….unless I’m completely wrong.

You do get January deals (who would begrudge us signing the next Suarez) but the better time to do business is in the summer when there is more time, more options, more leverage, better ability to plan, and when you still have a realistic chance of winning all competitions you enter.

Anelka and Mascherano were good January loan signings . Maxi Rodriguez, Jari Litmanen and the second coming of a guy called Robbie Fowler were all decent January free transfers.
I think the ' no value in January transfer' rubbish got cooked up by various PL managers trying to pacify fans.
Jürgen might be perfectly happy with his squad and I'll back his judgement no problem but I genuinely don't think much money gets made available for transfers whether its for Klopp ,Edwards or whoever. I think Klopp works miracles here to keep us anywhere near to competing with City.

Whatever the record for Jan signings, I’m sure if Jürgen wanted a particular player urgently, it would be funded.
