Even today Ferrari nearly cocked it all up, if Russell didn't go wide on that one lap he would have caught Sainz and then pitting Leclerc for the fastest lap to only have Alonso hold him up, shambolic.

Ferrari the gift that keeps in giving for the other teams.

Max dominant and will power to the title now.

Leclerc said on the radio he didn't want to risk it today, but they told him to box anyway. And it cost them a point in the end.
Honestly, this is also on Charles. A championship contender should be confident enough to overrule his team when they disagree with a decision.

I hope he leaves within a couple years.

Alonso's comments towards Hamilton in the heat of the moment told us a lot about the Spaniard and the bitterness / impetuousness that he seemingly carries in every walk of his f1 life. It's a level of unprofessionalism that has dictated his fallout with umpteen teams in f1 and led to him being just a two time world champion, even though his talent demanded more. (and of course led to the top teams just not wanting to touch him with a bargepole, leaving him to snatch middle of the grid fodder)

Ultimately if you can't square your natural talent with a respect towards all around you then it's no surprise why he has remained stuck on two world titles. He could have been a part of the Senna, Schumacher, Hamilton fold. But he isn't and that's all down to his attitude.

Realistically, where would he go, though? Unfortunately for him, Ferrari seems to be his best chance at the moment.

Yeah I watched it, soon as they went to soft tyres they basically went from bottom of the grid to the top. Don’t get your hopes up to high.

We shouldn't read too much into FP1. FP2 is usually the better benchmark (basically a race sim with high fuel load).
Ferrari were ahead in FP2, but the Mercs and McLarens do seem pretty good.

In other news, Piastri's move to McLaren has been confirmed by the CRB. That should make for an exciting pairing with Norris.

Could end up working better for Alpine than Piastri.
A strange sideways move that puts a question mark over him before his F1 career even starts.
Burning bridges before he even arrives. A veritable Alonso-esque move.

Would like to see Gasly move to Alpine.

Yeah I agree. Toto Wolff said something quite critical about him last week and how it's very early on in his career to piss off the people who helped you along in the way that Renault did. Unprecedented for a rookie.

It'll be good for Gasly to move to Alpine and step out of the shadow of Red Bull. He did well to keep his temperament with that shower after the way he was treated when he went to the parent team.

Gasly to Alpine would basically mean Ricciardo out of F1, so I'm not sure how I feel about it...

On the other hand, Gasly does deserve another chance with a good team, which he'll never get with Red Bull.

My heart says Ricciardo but my head says Gasly. Always enjoy watching Ricciardo and would miss him. However, there’s plenty of drivers behind Ricciardo so fingers crossed he gets into another team.

FP3 coming up usually the more relevant FP.  Noticed a bit of smoke out of Max V car yesterday. Lets face it its who is coming second if Max finishes

I think Danny Ric has a problem being perceived as a No2 driver unloved almost with Llando getting all the attention it seems to bother him as it did at RB.
Give him the Car and support he can do the business
