The heat related issues that drivers suffered on Sunday was quite severe and seems a bit of an oversight by F1 and the FIA particularly once the directive came from the FIA that tyres were only permitted to run for 18 laps max. Really showed just how extreme the sport can be.

Reminds you of the era in the late 90s / 00s of the drivers going pedal to the metal doing 70 odd laps at rapid speed - smaller fuel tanks, tyres that didn't need to be conserved. Extreme times. I remember Alonso not making the Malaysian GP podium one year because of dehydration.

With so many drivers complaining ( rightly so ) I think we can safely say it won’t be in the same calendar slot next year. Drivers were saying it felt like 80 degrees in their cock pit. It’s remarkable they even finished the race.

Has anyone else note how MV starts the race from pole? He always veirs into the path of the car starting in 2nd, then as the 1st corner swerves across the track to the side he started on to take the corner at speed.
Noticed this alot, the little sh*t.

It’s always been his trait puppy and yes he does it often, it’s his way of trying to intimidate whoever 2nd on the grid. I use to think he was alright a few years ago but obviously I got that totally wrong. 🤦‍♂️

      Thoughts on Lance Stroll anyone?

Much has been made about his petulant outburst after his miserable qualifying in Qatar. Flashes from a spoilt, privileged kid? Pressure getting to him after being thoroughly show up by his (admittedly) esteemed and decorated team mate?

Either way, it was moronic stuff and just exposes him more to the court that judges him no longer deserving of a drive in the sport, let alone a team with the resources of Aston Martin. It's more awkward for Aston Martin, especially his side of the garage who feel they should be working for a better driver. As long as his Pa continues to ensure his safe seat at Aston Martin, that team is going nowhere.

I did mention him a while back and basically said he only got the drive because of his dad, that opinion hasn’t changed. Boy he spit his dummy out the other week didn’t he. He’s daddy’s boy so can’t see anything changing unless he walks.

      Agree with you there Keith.

Thing is, he's shown flashes of speed, particularly in his rookie days in 2017 when he got hauled his Williams to 4th on the grid. Got a podium in Baku as well. But he hasn't really grown. He's not a bad driver and he definitely deserved a shot in f1 but we've got to the stage where the nepotism is now the prime judge of his place in the sport.

Great quali for Leclerc, Lando and Lewis. 1, 2 and 3 - I think all three will be satisfied with that, especially Lando given that he wasn't expecting much from the car this weekend.

Max? First 'Could do better' review for a long time. Probably still favourite for the race - I'm sure he can battle his way up front swiftly but his attitude was way off. Screaming at your team for putting yourself too close to Perez in the dirty air? Not a good look. Rattled and then DQs himself from for exceeding track limits.

The kunt will still come through the pack with that car mate. Was really pleased for Norris and also glad to see Mercs improved the flooring to get that little bit closer? Or shall we wait till Sunday first and then decide. 😂

Fantastic drive from Lewis. He's still the very best at letting the Grand Prix come to him over the course of 70 laps. There was a small window of opportunity to win that - in hindsight Mercedes would have brought him in a lap or two earlier but it was a fine margin call particularly as they would have wanted him to have as fresh a set of tyres by race end. A small lock up early on in the race might have cost Lewis a bit as well, but overall a lovely drive and one that thoroughly outwitted and out drove Lando and McLaren.

Max driving well as ever but his on radio rants and swearing are a poor show particularly when leading a race in a season where he's dominated and already sewn up the championship.

Lord help those Red Bull engineers the day / season when things don't go their way.

The more the better, had to turn it off soon as the kunt crossed the winning line.

What boss ( Horner ) puts up with the abuse he gets over the radio? It really is unacceptable, Horner a pussy for not standing his ground.

2 out of four cars failed what if 10 out of the 20 failed if they dont test all of them they dont know. The sprint and the GP on a bumpy track needs looking at. Hamilton lost nearly 3 seconds in two pit stops compared to others surprised that has not been mentioned.

A rule that has been in place for years. Merc and Ferrari caught out by the short time to dial in the car this weekend.
