      They've got a 'tobacco factory'.

Alas, it appears to be a theatre.

I used to know a tasty tight mini-skirted bird down there.

On another vein, one summer evening, after a few beers, I nearly got knocked down crossing the road in Bristol.

But I really like Wurzel country.  Well I did, before the south of england became a giant concrete and tarmac car park.

Might try and find Justin Lee Collins and give him a game of darts.

If there's anyone on this forum from Bristol then my favourite tea is Shepherds Pie and I'll be round about 6 o'clock on Tuesday.

      Hey everybody

Bit of a weird topic so I put it here. Mods; feel free to deleted if you find it irrelevant or something.

I might be applying for a position in Bristol, which means moving from Denmark to Bristol at some point (only maybe of course).

Anyways, read on wikipedia and other websites, but wanted to hear the honest opinion of somebody who live in the UK. Dont know many brits, so thought some fellow reds could maybe help me :-).

Anyone who knows anything about Bristol(except that its inferior to Liverpool of course ;))? Good? Bad? Boring? Funny? Ugly? Pretty?

      Thanks a lot already!

Hey man, I live in South Wales but spend a lot of time in Bristol.

It is a combination of both modern and traditional, the city and the university are pretty old and there is a very nice Cathedral in the middle which overlooks everything. It is a great city for entertainment, there are a lot of shows, concerts, gigs and great places to eat and drink particularly down by the waterfront.

The city itself isnt great for travel, the trains arent bad but the only real way about is by car which is hard at times as the main road into Bristol is a motorway which can get very very busy at rush hour.

As for living in Bristol it can be very much hit or miss, much like Cardiff or any other city there are nice parts and there are rough parts.

I personally love the city, many of my friends went to university there so I spent a bit of time there and as I said the waterfront side of the city is very nice and has all the modern developments there. Then you have the out of town shops and amenities which are a pleasant distraction to the city itself.

So to answer your question, Good, Fun and Pretty ;D.

Haha, i hope you're not being racist? or you mean Rovers' fans ;D

      Simple really:

Avoid - Filton, Stapleton Road, Stokes Croft and Bradley Stoke.

Anywhere else if pretty nice, my friend now lives in Fishponds which is nice and very quite. Clifton is quite nice too.

Nicky Maynard was at my school. I used to see him play football on the yard.

That's as far as it goes!

Even weirder - there was already a topic on the city of women with large chests. Topics merged.

And for what it's worth I thoroughly enjoyed my couple of days down there. Some very interesting 'nite spots'.

Parts of Henbury, Southmead (unfortunately where I live & was recently burgled) & Horfield should be avoided as well.  What ever you do avoid Knowle as well.  If you staying in the centre, might be worth picking up a FirstWeek from the bus depot, buses aren't that bad if you not travelling much past the centre.  Worth catching a show at the Hippodrome if a good ones on (and you can get tickets).  Couple of comedy clubs in & around the centre are a good night out.  Plenty of pubs in & around the centre do average to good food, a few better than others.
