Let's face it.  We're probably going to end up doing it the most difficult way possible anyway.

Everybody put your gloves on. It's gonna be a nail-biter.

Am I the only one quietly confident about this one then? I do think we'll do it comfortably as I said on the pre-match thread... just wondering if I'm the only one? :D

      ONE CHANGE FOR REDS

Fabio Aurelio returns to the starting line-up as Rafael Benitez makes one change to his side for tonight's vital Champions League qualifier with Standard Liege - a match you can watch live online.
The Brazilian full-back replaces Andrea Dossena on the left side of defence in an otherwise unchanged team from the one that beat Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Reds go into the clash all-square after Pepe Reina's heroics in the first-leg in Belgium a fortnight ago earned a 0-0 draw and they will be hoping to produce a better showing this time around to ensure they progress to the group stage of the competition.

The Liverpool team in full: Reina, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Carragher, Skrtel, Gerrard, Alonso, Benayoun, Kuyt, Torres, Keane.

So much for Babel, N'Gog or El Zhar having a crack from the start on the wings then.  ::)

Don't worry, if we're 0-1 down I'll leave the room for 5mins and when I return it will be 2-1!

Well, that's what usually happens if I get obstroffed when watching a match on tv, I leave and then things are better when I return, mostly!

However, I don't think such action will be required tonight.

All I want is for us to start at a high tempo and not give them any room for the first 25 mins and by then lets hope the fowards click because they are going to frighten all & sundry when they start so let it be tonight...

Only one dissapointing thing about the team Kuyt and Benny ,but thats what Rafa does he sticks with players even when it is blatenty obvious they are not on top of their games there are only a couple of players you can do that with and i dont think they come into that category, thats my little gripe over ,come on you redmen still think we will win tonight to much at stake,,,YNWA.

Not too sure Benayoun, Kuyt and Arbeloa are deserving of their places.  Dossena a bit unlucky to not be involved in my opinion - maybe he did a bit of damage in that head collision on Sat.

Not a lot of excitement on the bench either.  Where's N'Gog, Pennant and even, if the chips are really down, Voronin.

And Finnan's number looks well and truly up doesn't it.

How come Agger is out again? does Rafa prefer Skrtel now or something?

Don't know what's up with Benitez.  Does he not understand the meaning of the word 'rotation'. ;)

Arbeloa's testing my patience.  I expect to see a solid performance tonight.

No surprises for me with the team line-up to be honest. He's giving some lads a rest and giving Aurelio a run out to up his fitness levels. Babel, Masch and Lucas are still tired after the Olympics. Expect Babel on as a sub and possibly Agger if we really have the game wrapped up. Come on Robbie, let's break that duck and get on the scoresheet for this one!

And Voronin? If it carries on like this he can kiss his season goodbye. I mean, if he can't make the bench when we have 2 players still jet-lagged from the Olympics who will be in front of him in terms of selection... Wonder if Hamburg are going to make a last-gasp bid for him this week?

Dissapointed Yossi has started on the left and Arbeloa at right back, them 2 have been poor so far this season IMO, good to see Aurelio back though.
