Loss or a draw doesn't change much though really. We still need to get a result in our final two games to get through to the knock-out round. I would of love to win today to not have to worry about the Champions League until the new year but it wasn't to be.

I have come to the conclusion that we don need the full backs anymore. We are so vulnerable from the LB area. It was from that point that Berbatov was able to pass the ball to Tevez. It was from there too that some player beat Dossena and passed the ball to palychenko to score for tottenham. Now Aurelio got beat before Carragher then the goal.

                               Reina

               Carragher   Skrtel   Agger

                   Mascherano    Alonso

      Kuyt                                       Riera

                          Gerrard

                      Torres     Keane

Only the best feet from now on.

I would of left Keane on, he needs more games to start scoring, we cant just rely on Torres as our only scorer.

I bet all them so called fans that were leaving early are pissed off.

I'm glad they did. They didn't deserve to see the goal.

We should have won, and we were bound for nothing till a lucky pen saved us.

We are not performing well enough in all aspects of our game, our defence was shaky , we gave the ball away a bit too often, we lost aerial challenges and we missed chances. We have to respond much much better versus West Brom.

Gerrard's penalty was finished brillantly. It takes a hell of a lot of guts to finish like that in the 95th minuite, in front of the Kop and while trailing 1-0. Top Marks.

arbeloa     6.5  some ok crosses in
carragher  7   some very decent clearances
agger       8   great forward play, good defending

kuyt       7    was lively, but ineffective, maybe he should have been upfront instead of keane
keane     6.5 gets in decent space....but your job is to score son and you didnt do it again

Overall I thought we played good football again tonight. Our finishing as Ive said needs work and some times our final ball lets us down. But some of the pass and move was class tonight.

When we start finishing the chances we are creating we are going to batter teams. It will come dont worry

Imo riera should have got 6.5 and keane 6. riera had few good crosses in the first half. only thing keane got right was first touch pass exchange with stevie. rest is spot on tho :-\

After N'Gog shook off some of the nerves, he looked good in front of goal, but still more development needed.
Agger was MotM for me, he was solid in defense and was a threat in the box aswell. Robbie looked lively, but as always, no result. It's starting to show how much we miss Torres.

We need to take our chances more, and we need Torres, because atm, Keane isn't producing.

I'm starting to get really frustrated with Aurelio. He is useful from time to time going forward. But his passing is piss poor. He's awful at retaining possession.

I don't think our defence is shaky.  If Keane had put that ball in the back of the net when he was one-on-one with the goalie, I think we would of won, but missing chances like this give the other team hope.

My first initial reaction straight after the game, without reading the rest of thread first, which is highly unusual for me, is that we were lucky to scrape that draw with a penalty that I don't think was deserved but was well taken again by SG. Thank F**k he went the other way...his last few have all been in the bottom left corner and that's the way the keeper went.

We controlled the game for large chunks, what's new ??? but they looked super dangerous on the counter.
That goal they scored was pure quality starting with that kick up the ground from their right back. Can't believe we didn't deal with that.

For me the standout was Xabi...his passing was sublime...God help us if we sold him during the last transfer window...his vision is just pure class.

Danny Agger should have had a hatrick....2 of those balls in the box fell to his favoured left foot and he should have buried them as well as that header....however with more match fitness, it looks like he might be another potent goal scoring threat we have as another option instead of the usual suspects of Torres and Gerrard and sometimes Kuyt, who I think, today was back to his horrible first touch problems again.

I was really pissed off with Lucas when he came on...I watched him shirk out of two important challenges that lucky for us didn't cost us in the end. I really believe he isn't LFC material...time to cut our losses on him in the January transfer window.

All in all a disappointing result again when we had so much possession...but we gained a point instead of losing another 3 and Marseille helped us out by beating PSV....come on REDS, lets improve my birthday months results by hammering WBA on Saturday...lift for fucks sake.

stevie had a great chance at put it over....we need to finish, i think the team is playing to slowly out of the back....XAbi needs to move up and let the centerbacks hang out back there.  we create our best chances at the end of a game when we start pressing and we move up the pitch swiftly.  glad to tie....same result is not okay in prem.

I still haven't seen the penalty incident yet, just got back from the match and it's about to be on ITV highlights.
We never played well tonight but once again we played for 90+minutes and that was proved to be the key factor in the result.
Well done stevie. Never misses penalties now, even when under high pressure like tonight. :D

Fully deserved the point we got tonight. Maybe it wasnt a pen but made up for the earlier clear handball. A draw was the least we deserved and vital we didnt lose 2 games in a row. Beat marseille next game and we're through. Lets keep positive
