I wish Stan would keep his grid shut!

Jose is man to bring the special prize to Anfield
      Stan Collymore 23/03/2009 Daily Mirror

Rafa Benitez has just signed a new five-year contract at Liverpool with orders to bring a maiden Premier League crown to Anfield.

As a former Liverpool player I desperately hope Benitez succeeds but I cannot join in the enthusiasm over him.

I still have my doubts about the Spaniard. I know he will now have more control over transfer dealing.

But the bungling American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett remain in charge of the purse strings.

I have long believed that Jose Mourinho is the man for Liverpool.

Benitez cannot attract the type of players Mourinho was able to sign at Chelsea.

Benitez, in charge since 2004, has only ever recruited one future superstar in Fernando Torres. But he will need six or seven players of Torres' stature to ensure Liverpool are the best team in the country.

And I am not sure enough players like Torres will go to Liverpool while Benitez is there.

Mourinho is the true 'Special One' and I am still not convinced Liverpool's players believe Rafa is anything out of the ordinary.

Liverpool have recently had fantastic results against Manchester United and Real Madrid.

And I fancy them to edge past Chelsea in their big Champions League clash.

But losing at Middlesbrough last month has handed the Premier League title to United in all likelihood and it is that kind of inconsistency I believe only Mourinho can rectify.

I am still not convinced Liverpool's players believe Rafa is anything out of the ordinary

Obviously written before we twatted his beloved 'Villa' yesterday, but Stan the Man(sic) is a 24 carat gobs***e.

He said that the so called special one can attract better players than Benitez. what Bollocks! I would bet my kids that if you gave Benitez 100 million quid to wave around in the summer and massive salaries thrown in, he could attract pretty much anyone to Liverpool!

1/ He implies that Maureen attracted players to Chelski rather than money.
2/ He still refers to Maureen as "the special one" when its quite obvious in Italy he's the "average one".
3/ He also thinks were 6 world class players of being the best team in the country??

What about 'the special one' blabbering a lot but failiing to back it up by going out of the CL to a team who we murdered royally at their own den.How can these people forget their roots.I wish we had more of Luis Garcias as former players.

Not that often then?? Only joking mate.
I do agree with you though, I dont know how anybody could doubt Rafa at the moment he has been doing extremely well, alot better than we would have expected at the start of the season if we are honest. He has got all out players playing amazingly and working extremely well as a team, I wouldn't swap him for anybody.

Every other week seems to be having a pop at Rafa, and it's really starting to do my nut in.

A two-faced w**ker, woman beater, mental problems, sh*t-actor, sexual deviant and mummy's boy.

Does he not realise that Rafa is the special one he has signed a new contract and if he gets the players he wants he could win the title 3 out of the next 5 years.

I remember him causing Roy Evans all sorts of problems when things started going wrong, and he thought he was the team so pay me what I'm worth Collymore (not much stan) but my gripe with Collymore is he would never get stuck in and try to help when it wasn't going right.

I read on wiki he had about two years with us (thought it was three) only two years, you must have been popular in the locker room Stan. I remember at the time that showed me he only wanted one thing, and that's money.
