And even that didn't work.
I know, that made it worse for them.
I can't believe how badly they fu**ed it up with the Rumble though. I think if Bryan didn't win, then they'd of been backlash but not as much if they booked it properly. The pop Bubba Dudley got was fantastic. I'll be honest, I had a smile on me face as well. I was desperate to see Devon enter at number 4. (Dudley's v Ascension in a tables match at WrestleMania?).
They started the Rumble so well. Wyatt just cleaning house. They built him up again. Rusev looked boss. But Bryan's elimination was just one of 29, it wasn't special nor did it do anything for Wyatt. There was no big deal made of Wyatt for eliminating Bryan. And then once Reigns entered it was obvious he was winning it.
Even then though there was a glimmer of hope when it was Ambrose, Big Show and Kane left with Reigns. They could of teased the winner slightly more by having Ambrose survive rather than it being Kane, Big Show and Reigns. Once that happened it was over. Then even with Rusev sneaking up on him, Reigns still wins. Rusev winning would of been better. Imagine him going onto face Lesnar and beating him. He could of walked out of WrestleMania holding the US Title and WWE Title. In the following weeks bragged about being the man to beat the Beast. So even when he drops the WWE Title, he'd still have the US Title to avoid being irrelevant.
Instead he's being given to Cena. That's been confirmed for Fast Lane.
The WWE really are daft. The man who beats Rusev should get the biggest cheer of the year. Finally the anti-American has been overcome. And they give that honour to Cena, who will instead receive the biggest boos of the year for burying another talent.
