West Ham V Millwall in the league cup tonight.

      Should be interesting!

I wonder if any hooligan programme makers will be on hand.

Apparently match-day police around Upton Park began at 2pm this afternoon  :o

      Violence Erupts at London Derby
A man has been stabbed in the chest during violence involving "hundreds" of fans outside West Ham's Upton Park stadium during a game with Millwall.

Fights broke out at 1915 BST and were still raging more than an hour later. A man was stabbed in nearby Priory Road at about 2025 BST.

A fan told the BBC it was the worst hooliganism he had seen in 30 years.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "It looks like there has been some planned trouble from fans."

He added: "Hundreds of fans are estimated to be involved."

The 44-year-old stab victim is said to be in a stable condition.

One pub reportedly had its windows broken by bricks during running battles across several streets up to half a mile from the stadium.

Two arrests have been confirmed, for affray and breaching a control order.

British Transport Police said they heard reports of minor overcrowding at Upton Park Tube station.

The BBC's Ben Jacobs, who is at the stadium, said: "The trouble broke out outside the Tube station about 600 yards from the ground.
"There were 500 to 1,000 riot police and Millwall fans managed to break through the divide.

"Bottles were thrown and bricks were as well."

He added: "There has been a bit of trouble inside the ground.

"There was a penalty shout and fans started gesturing and throwing small objects."

      'Burly bald man'

Aaron Smith from Hemel Hempstead, who was at the game, said: "I saw one man cornered by at least a dozen Millwall fans before kick-off. Terrifying scenes."

Eyewitness Fergal O'Brien said: "I saw a West Ham fan getting punched in the face by a burly bald man who had a coin between his fists."

Another fan said: "I was in a throng walking up and a group of hooligans came for us.

"The police wanted to help but they were clearly afraid to use force. I am still shaking. I thought I was going to die."

Meanwhile Ben Newton, from Harrow, north London, said his father had been stretchered away after being hit with a dart to the head.

And a Millwall fan told the BBC: "It was like a war zone outside the stadium. There was fighting all round.
"I brought my kids with me tonight and they've seen some violence that is indescribable."

      Violence Breaks Out

A man has been stabbed and violent battles have broken out between rival football fans in "large-scale" crowd trouble, police said.

Hundreds of fans are involved in the disorder which police said was caused by people without tickets to the West Ham versus Millwall game who had planned to start trouble.

A spokesman for Metropolitan Police said more officers were being rushed to the scene outside Upton Park, in east London.

"There is large-scale trouble involving hundreds of fans which we are dealing with at the moment," he added.

Officers have made two arrests, one for disorder and the second for breach of a banning order.

Police said the stabbing, in Priory Road close to the stadium, is connected to the fighting and the man is being treated by paramedics.

On the Millwall Independent Supporters Association website fans were discussing the reports of violence.

One fan, calling himself Uwe said: "Already this is turning into the biggest **** storm for a while. Hopefully it won't **** the club too much. Met have made their own bed by not giving us the tickets and then saying trouble was caused by 'ticketless supporters'."

Inside Upton Park pockets of violence also broke out. Some supporters made it on to the pitch.

The rival fans taunted one another as news of the fighting outside filtered through. The game finished 1-1 meaning an extra 30 minutes would be played

Absolute disgrace, it's like frigging Green Street!

      West Ham now lead 3-1.

Both West Ham and Millwall should play all their home games behind closed doors for the rest of the season IMO because although West Ham fans weren't as bad they still constantly invaded the pitch and forced the Millwall players to leave the pitch.

I feel sorry for Collison, his dad died 2 days ago in a motorbike crash but still decided to play and has to put up with this!

I'm sorry but anyone taking kids to that game tonight wants their heads testing.

With it being a night game, it was obvious there was going to be trouble tonight.

A pic taken before the game:

How sad is that. Because of a bunch of cu*ts that have issues means the younger kids cannot go to a game, its a disgrace!

Probably happens in around the local pubs to be honest and then word just spreads.

Yeah but that fixture has had a history of trouble.

And what do you expect from a gang of cockney gobshites who have watched Football Factory and Green Street one too many times.
