Slightly off topic but seeing as I can't start a thread I thought I'd post it in a (sort of) European Cup thread.

I'm guessing there's people on here who went to Istanbul when you won the Champions League?

I remember reading at the time that many Liverpool fans said the stadium was quite a hike out of the city.

We're going to Istanbul to watch football in a couple of weeks and was supposed to go to two games. We thought they'd be on different days but they've been arranged for the same day, albeit 4 hours apart.

Basically I want to know the logistics of getting back into town, or more specifically the Ali Sami Yen stadium from the Ataturk Stadium?
Of course there won't be 70-80,000 there when we go, so it won't be as hectic as it was for a CL Final.

Any help muchly appreciated.

Yes wrong Thread completely! Arguable wrong web site.
We won it 4 years ago, so I would imagine that a lot has changed. Is there not an F1 Circuit now? I guess you are not from Istanbul, and I guess again you are traveling with a Holiday Agent or some sort? Have you asked them? Have you contacted any Tourist Web sites, have you looked on Google Maps/Earth to see where the 2 grounds are in relation to each other?

Now with a bit of investigation I have found they are about 14 miles apart. that is about 23km apart along the E80/O-2 highway so a TAXI may do



Now need to find somewhere to put this?

Question asked in wrong thread. I answered (Above) and then tried to find the appropriate thread to put it in. I could not find any, So I started one.

Felt it may be a good idea (or not it seems) to have an area to ask questions about away ground?

We're flying independently from Luton to Istanbul with Easyjet.

It does sound like a bit of a pain to get to, especially if there's not much happening around the ground.

We might go to a Third Division game nearer to the city if the kick off times suit.

I find it quite sad that you could not find this out your self, took me 5-10 mins to find this out create an image, upload it and post it. And you joined this forum to ask this question!
