He's had injury problems throughout his career though. Would still  be an awesome buy though, hes like arbeloa but with abit more class.

Left backs like someone said earlier are very difficult to find, good ones that is. Its always likely to be a weak area for any team so I think everyone saying we need a new left back needs to remember that there are none for sale that are good enough. We might as well just try and develop Insua.

Anyway, to defend my Skrtel sale, I'm not a major fan of his as he isn't as strong defensively as Carra, and he doesn't have the ball skills of Agger.  I therefore think he's a good one to sell to raise funds, as he's not a first XI'er and he could actually generate some proper money i.e. > £10m.  We also have the greek as DC back up, and surely one of Rafa's many many youngsters can deputise as 4th choice DC?  I'd therefore generate £20m selling babel/benayoun/skrtel/ngog and go for this:

Fair enough, Skrtel and Agger are still young though so although they can learn a lot from Carra and Sotis, I personally feel that they will become the main partnership over the next couple of years.

       Doyle (7.5mil)  - would be overpriced because he's English, same as Lennon but is a proven goal scorer
       Jovanovich (0) - Free agent, left footer who can partner Torres as Aquilani swaps for Masch against weaker teams
       J.Cole (0)       - pure quality, can play both wings or behind the forward, could do alot worse for free.


Sell: Kuyt (10mil) - The old excuse of "he works hard/he runs hard" just can't cut it at Liverpool FC. A striker who wasn't good enough and got shafted out wide right to try and re-make himself. Done a good job but we can do alot better. I'd expect a sale to Italian/German league sides.

That was reasonably difficult to be honest. Still think left back and centre-backs are weak... Although I purposefully only spent net 35mil expecting the 50mil from the yanks to include wages/renewing contracts of current players.
