As far as I've read up on this, although the guy is an invester in FSG he has no direct control of anything in LFC.  It shouldn't effect either Club as there is no conflict of interest.

Relax people!  :) We shouldn't be worried about the Roma situation. We are run by very smart people, and I'm sure our board full of millionaires was smart enough to have calculated what needed to be done for the best interest of LFC and Roma in this scenario. I'm sure they will be changing the ownership shares as needed to comply with the rules.

This is just a reporter trying to create panic in order to sell papers and create more website hits.  :mixed-smiley-009:

Yeah, was thinking that surely that represents a conflict of interests.

Henry shocked by state of Reds

Henry: Shocked by the state of Liverpool after takeover

Liverpool owner John W Henry has admitted he was shocked by the club's huge wage bill and lack of squad depth when he secured control at Anfield.

Henry and his Fenway Sports Group consortium completed their takeover at Anfield last October, securing control of the club from the much-maligned pair of Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

The Reds have endured a disappointing campaign with Kenny Dalglish being drafted in to replace Roy Hodgson earlier this term, and Henry feels their struggles are in due down to the state the club was left in by former boss Rafa Benitez and Hicks and Gillett.

"The worst surprise was the lack of depth," Henry told Four Four Two magazine. "Our biggest concern was this issue - and it was a bigger issue than we feared.

"There was a huge, multi-year payroll for a squad with very little quality in depth."

      Title target

Henry insists he is determined to restore Liverpool to their former glories and has made winning the Premier League his top priority.

"Our number one priority is to win the Premier League title," added Henry.

"There was a huge, multi-year payroll for a squad with very little quality in depth. "
      John W Henry
"That is what we take with us each day to work as the force that drives us to excel.

"If we can accomplish that we will have put ourselves in a position to be successful on all fronts. Success is winning championships, nothing less.

"And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once"

My only problem with this article is the way they drag Rafa into it. The man did the best he could with no resources except, one might say, his squad.

Otherwise, it's music to my ears.

That's the article looking to have a pop at Rafa. Throws the line in between Henry's quotes. Typical bullshit journalism.

Yeah, I checked and double-checked on a couple other sites to see if it was a quote. Happy to say I came back emptyhanded.

Massive initial investment in players this Summer needed if FSG are to make Liverpool fulfill there potential.

Liverpool need to be in the Champions League to fulfill there commercial potential and to maximise to money making potential.

Unless there is big spending on there part in the Summer we will miss out again on the Champions league next season and the longer we are out the further away we will get.

The Kroenke deal values Arsenal at £731m. NESV bought LFC for £300m.

Decent investment in the summer, get us back in the CL, build a stadium and they are still laughing.

Actually it's a net spend of about £4 million at the moment, add up Carroll's and Suarez's fees it's a little bit more than the £50 million we got for Torres.

At least they understand the Liverpool Way more than the other two gobshites did.

we sold babel as well, so in fact they have made money. dont foget what the club makes as well - if they arnt taking any out wheres the money made gone? ive heard its anything between 15 & 30M since they have been here

do they? certainly making the right noises atm, but lets face it they are here for one thing & thats money - if success is on the back of that (Im hoping they get the success to make the money btw) then alls good

Just because the spending figures aren't positives digits it doesn't mean they haven't improved the squad over the window.

They spent 2 million when all factors are considered. Summer will be the big test of where we are at. Mind you our attacking options now look immensely improved with Carroll, Suarez and Kuyt
