Apart from that, winning the group with 2 wins and 4 draws - piss F***ing poor.

Poulsen was consistent tonight........could not pass a ball,couldn't keep up with the game ,all in all ...sh*te !!, Ryan Babel's first touch is really poor ,ball being given away far too cheaply .Shelvey shone for me also thought Aurelio must start ahead of Konchesky in the first team ,so hard to watch this game ......dull and boring

Roy had a very innovative tactic tonight IMHO. You see Utrecht knows we normally go for the win at home and draw on the road. Roy was very ingenious in going for the draw at home thus confusing the Dutch players and manager.

Very few of the players actually had a dreadful game today, I thought. It was the tactics that held us back. Shelvey I thought did fairly well, Wilson did well, Pacheco looked bright when he came on etc. Tectics were wrong.

Babel was dire, as always. He needs to go. Eccleston showed some nice predatory skills, really promising prospect.
The only good players were Pacheco, Shelvey, Wilson and Kelly, they deserve to be given much more chances by the new manager. Roy will be sacked after another defeat to Blackpool.

I think with the right mix of some youth and experience within our own squad we would have torn them apart. Our " B team " has some players that deserve a chance. Shelvey, Dani, Kelly all deserve some games alongside the likes of Torres and Gerrard

Aurelio - better than Konchesky but thats hardly difficult. Made a couple of good crosses (probably should have crucified Roy with one of them)

Ecclestone - couple of good runs but chose the wrong option

Pachecho - very lively when he came on but slowly decended into the same mire as the rest of the players

but if wed played torres and hed got injured we never would have heard the end of it. We won the group, did what was needed. If we were Fulham that would have been fine, but we're Liverpool, we should be winning every game. We just dont have the squad for it. When we rest players we have no one left really like most other clubs do
