Manchester Utd 1-0 Liverpool: In-game and Post Match Thoughts

I'm proud of how we've played today. Even with the awful start we had, we went for it and, in my opinion, put out our best performance of the season.

Very positive about the future. I expect to see a lot more of the younger lads based on this too.

Well done lads, unlucky we didn't get an equaliser but a lot of positives can be taken from that preformance.

Kelly played well for 90 mins, made a strong case to be a regular in the starting XI, hard to drop him.

Shelvey played well for 30 mins too.

Kuyt needs to be dropped though.

If we take away all the cheating and everything else that went on, Kenny got us as a team once again, we were attacking and looked a threat. Nothing managed to materialise as a goal but they all looked such a different bunch of players. And Kelly was immense.

We shot ourselves two times in the foot and that's the result. If Gerrard had stayed on and if Webb stopped being such a f***in tard we could have easily won it.

But in the end, we did really good. We lost alot of our concentration in the last 20 minutes and playing forward with one man less against ManUtd in Old Trafford isn't the easiest thing to do, so I'm looking very forward to the next games.

Webb is just another Mike Riley. Berbatov is the laziest player I've ever seen.

Kenny shouldn't be too disappointed with that result. Yeah, it was a loss to our biggest rival but there are far more important things than that.

We went down early in the game by a controversial penalty but we were better than them till Gerrard who got red carded, rightly. Even after that, we dealt with everything perfectly well with a man down and a biased referee, especially in the first half. Fought hard and showed some determination to win the ball and put effort in.

Still, we lack certain qualities in certain areas. I'm thinking pace and more players who can pass.

All in all, it was a much improved performance by the players and King Kenny should be happy with what he has seen. Roll on the next game because I can't wait to see what the King has to offer in the league. Just disappointed that we'd have Gerrard out of the derby but available for the next game.

I'm very impressed with Kelly. A definite for the future.

Didn't even look we were down to 10 men for most of the match which makes me quite proud. 

When Sam "Yes Mr Ferguson" Allardyce says it wasn't a penalty, you've got to conclude we did well today. Truly think, that with 11 men, we'd have walked it.

Strangely I'm really happy.

If it wasn't for the referee we would have at least got them back to Anfield if not better. We were united in defeat today. I thought every player put in a shift even if their match performance wasn't great.

YNWA and a decent start to the Kenny era I thought.

I am extremely proud of the team.

King Kenny saved us from embarrassment, we did brilliantly well today, we can always look at the end of it and think what could've been had we had 11 v 11. But what is was very encouraging that match, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
