Last lap of honour from Vicky!  What a servant she has been to British cycling.  Emotional moments here.

Amen to that. Very emotional stuff.

Gutted she couldn't sign off with the gold.

Laura Trott, bless her, she has such an infectious smile /laugh.

She does and is an instantly likeable girl.

      Double Olympic champion.

Gutted for Vicky but I think she's happy to have got one gold and be able to move on from the sport. It's been a very tough career for her in a lot of ways.

Time for Sir Chris Hoy to make history now though!!!!

BMX with Shanaze Reade to come as well! Easy to forget about that!

Remember her falling when she was the favourite in Beijing 4 years back. She will put that right!

And mountain biking, although these are not strong events for GB, I still love watching them!

I don't think Shanaze is as nailed on a favourite as she was in Beijing, maybe that might take the pressure off.  Although she crashed out of the Worlds recently.  Best of luck to her!  She doesn't give an inch and it costs her sometimes, hopefully her luck will change!

I missed that if they were both on camera together. Would have liked to have seen that.

Both amazing Olympians and both really nice blokes.

      Chris Hoy is a MACHINE!!!

Absolutely love the track cycling and I actually prefer it to the athletics. amazing job once again by the British Track Cycling team. Team of the year without a doubt for me.

Gutted for Vicky but she has had an amazing career and two golds and a silver isn't bad going  in the last 2 Olympics.

Team of the year for me too. I can't think of any other worthy challengers except maybe the rowing team.

The rowing team were incredible! That last day of rowing on Saturday morning with two golds and tears of triumph and despair from our rowers was unbelievable. But the cyclists get team of the year for me as well. They had to do something quite special in order to do so and they did that. This was even better than Beijing and that was when we all thought it couldn't get any better. The fact we could have (and maybe should have?) had further medals in the men's road race with Cavendish, Pendleton and Varnish and so on is a tribute to the strength in depth in British cycling.

You can bet that Dave Brailsford and co are already looking ahead to next month and the Road Cycling World Championships in the Netherlands. Imagine a situation where Cavendish and Wiggins (or Froome) won the road race and time trial then? And judging by her performance in the road race I wouldn't put it past Lizzie Armistead to go one better than the silver she got in these games and become world champion! It would be brilliant if Emma Pooley got back on the podium as well in the time trial. She's often done the support work for her team mates in the road race and is probably one of the most selfless and unsung sports people out there. Like the Dirk Kuyt of women's road racing! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out on their progress next month.
