Don't know much about the lad to be honest reading some good things though so far.

One thing I would like to know is whether or not he has pace? Has anybody watched him enough to make a call on this?

Interesting stats discussion on Borini on this website

Front 3 of Dempsey, Suarez and Borini perhaps?

I think Borini will be an excellent player.. I believe that because Rodgers would have seen a great deal amount of Borini, and if he wants him, then I think he'll be a good player for us.

He seems more like a poacher, with good movement and agileness. Still remain unconvinced he'd be the first choice striker, simply because he hasn't proved he can handle that responsibility, but he will definitely be a much needed option from the bench.

Being truthfully honest, I haven't seen much of him, but he has got a decent goal scoring record for his age.

Is it a viable option playing Andy and Borini( if he is to come) together? I believe we can play Andy as a lone striker and use borini and Suarez at the wings, what do u think?

Liverpool FC agree £11million fee with Roma for Fabio Borini
      by James Pearce, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL are set to complete the signing of striker Fabio Borini after agreeing an £11million deal with Roma.

The Reds have been given the green light to discuss personal terms with the 21-year-old Italy international who will then undergo a medical.

The transfer should be completed in the next 48 hours and Borini will become manager Brendan Rodgers' first signing.

An agreement between the clubs was reached following lengthy negotiations after Borini made it clear he wanted to be reunited with the Northern Irishman.

Rodgers knows exactly what he's getting having worked with the highly-rated youngster at Chelsea and then signed him on loan at Swansea City towards the end of the 2010/11 season.

Borini joined Parma after his Chelsea contract expired last summer but was swiftly loaned out to Roma.

He made a big impression at the Stadio Olimpico, scoring 10 goals in 26 games in all competitions, and earned a place in the Italy squad at Euro 2012.

Roma bought half of his rights back in January when they entered into a co-ownership agreement with Parma and then last month they bought the other 50%, taking their overall spending on him to around £7million.

Rodgers made boosting his firepower the priority having seen Dirk Kuyt move to Fenerbahce and Luis Suarez called up by Uruguay for the Olympics.

With Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll facing uncertain futures, Borini is unlikely to be the only striker signed by the Reds during the transfer window.

May be we are just waiting to wrap up the Dempsey-Deal and make it a double announcement

If BR isn't convinced about Andy, I just hope he loans him out rather than taking a 20mp loss!! IF there is a sale, hope we do something like this with Fulham

      Carroll Fee = Dempsey + Borini Fee + add-ons

It looks like we will be seeing Borini in the Liveropool RED by Sunday.Like Vicks86 I am not convinced that selling Andy is the best option.

We were all saying we needed an extra striker, now we have one and we're gonna sell /loan one of the other two strikers. I think (or should i say hope) not!

Still won't believe this is happened till he holds up the Red Shirt with his name on the back of it. Knowing our luck just before he signs, Tottenham put in a 15 million pound bid and he signs with them!  >:(

Medical in Liverpool currently taking place.

From the little I have seen, as well as read, he strikes me as a more technically gifted and younger Dirk Kuyt. Would that be accurate?

I love Dirk but even I am more technically gifted than him.Dirk read the game very well and scored some very important goals.
To be honest its like groundhog day and has been for 20 years they all come with great promise and then they seem to think they have made it coming here and do F**k all.
Lets hope this lad is different and I am sure we will all wish him the very best if he comes.

Hope that was actually tongue in cheek. Dirk only has 90 games for Holland :)
